If wed only kept Howie..

Leeds "must pay £5m for Jonny Howson"

Recommended Posts

Not in tears about this, as long as we got a good price for him, and certainly if it is based around relocation with/for his family. (Mind you, if it was about the family, why haven''t Dirty Leeds come in for one of their heroes, as I am sure JH would jump at the chance?) I know Leeds to Middlesboro is commutable. Let''s put it down to wages then.

Let''s not forget Webber''s comments, about the number of players, who are listed on the back of our programme, and how many would be anticipated to be here, at the start of this coming season.

Howson is a slightly above average Championship standard player.

Whatever anyone thinks, he never influenced matches for longer than 20 minutes.

I''m more than happy with £6m for him and I suspect he will do a Snodgrass with West Ham and be on the bench within a dozen games.

We can do better.

Fully agree with this.

If he was as good as so many on here seem to think we would have had Premiership clubs knocking on our door, not Championship clubs.

People condemned Fer but he was wanted by Premiership clubs and got his move and is getting regular Premiership football.
Did he say that he wanted Johnny to stay? I thought he said that Dorrans is off and nothing about Howson.
It''s important to note that Farke said this when the negotiations re the fee for Howson were taking place. He obviously knew there was a deal in the offing but to get the best price possible you don''t say that you don''t want the player to stay."The Teessiders have yet to meet City’s valuation of their prized asset, leaving Howson’s long term future up in the air.

“Of course it is normal there will be speculation and

rumours. I just want to concentrate on the guys I have here to work

with,” said Farke. “I have said it a few times about Jonny Howson. I

like him as a person, I love him as a player. I think he is a pretty

good player who can play number six, eight and 10. In my opinion one of

the best midfielders in the Championship and I would like to work with

him longer. I know there are speculations and I don’t want to talk about

them. It is part of the business. Jonny is my player. I appreciate

him.”"
