? 0 Posted May 10, 2016 The weather was bloody atrocious. Being a nipper my old man didn''t let me go on the pitch but my elder brother did, came back looking like he had been mud wrestling. Suffice to say the old man was not impressed! One of my earliest City memories!
Yellowhammer 95 Posted May 10, 2016 Me and my mate ended up with our photo in the EDP supplement front page soaked to the skin but what great times they were
Johnny Stump 1 Posted May 10, 2016 I was too young to go, but I think I still have that EDP special somewhere.
TIL 1010 5,246 Posted May 10, 2016 I sat in the directors box that day as my landlady back here in Norwich had a sister who was married to a Watford director. After the game he gave me and his son two tickets for England v West Germany played that evening at Wembley. England lost but who cared after the events at Vicarage Road.Who remembers the previous Monday night at Brisbane Road with goals from Paddon ( pen ) and Cross ? I just cannot believe those games were 44 years ago.

nutty nigel 7,902 Posted May 10, 2016 Parts of the pitch resembled a ploughed field afterwards. Great memories though[Y]
SwindonCanary 457 Posted May 11, 2016 Running across that pitch was the only bit of ''hooliganism'' I ever took part in, but it was only to stay dry!
