  1. Your sarcasm would work a lot better, Morty, if we weren''t in serious danger of relegation with a manager who constantly fails to get the best out of decent footballers. People keep saying we''re x many points away from 10th. An argument that always makes me laugh because whilst it might be fact, it also might as well be a million miles away.
  2. HUGHTON OUT Utterly useless, inept manager who should''ve gone back in October. Pathetic performance today. Sad thing is, we knew it would happen before a ball was even kicked. Utter joke.
  3. Some brag that other teams have sacked their managers yet we remain loyal to Chris. Some see it as a good thing. Where''s it getting us? We are useless. We look totally inept. Chris is so so so so so lucky to still be here. I bet even he can''t believe it. We must be f*****g mugs to keep him here. Worst part about today is how predictable it all was, before a ball was even kicked. So sad to see. We are utter dross. Sooner the manager goes, the better. Pathetic.
  4. QH Canary - phrases like ''tactically retarded'' and ''tosser of the highest order'' mean that i take your opinion with a pinch of sea salt, sir.
  5. I think it''s fairly obvious Hughton will leave this summer, wherever we finish. If we remain the Premier League after this season, I think some of the candidates will be: Neil Lennon Tim Sherwood Uwe Rosler Malky Mackay Steve Bruce Plus an Italian or two, probably.
  6. We have no chance of winning tomorrow. Absolutely no chance.
  7. ...I just can''t see us winning on Saturday. I think it''s a formality that we will come away from St. Mary''s with absolutely nothing. How do other fans suppose we will win this game? What are Southampton''s weak areas? Where can this game be won?
  8. Shouldn''t we just use the same words as the ''Lambert out'' song?
  9. For a start, my first choice line up would be (taking into account Fer''s injury): Ruddy Martin Bennett Yobo Ollsson Johnson Tettey Snodgrass Hoolahan Pilkington Hooper I don''t think playing two strikers is any use to us because we rarely score anyway, but we do often play better with Wes in the team. I''d switch Snodgrass and Pilkington throughout the game, exposing certain weaknesses of the full backs. Tell Hooper not to come short for the ball too much and stay around the 18 yard box in a Gary Linker type role and wait for the ball in the box, create space, lose defenders etc. I''d put Martin Ollson on any free kicks that are to be crossed into the box. Snodgrass on any shots from free kicks. I have to go to work but I could go on.
  10. Morty, the money helped Fergie but surely even you must see that, money aside, he was really quite brilliant. Deluded X-factour contestants are quite different to the ambition and mentality I''m talking about. After all, we are already in the Premier League. Whereas some of these deluded X-factour contestants either haven''t long left their padded cells or are on their way to the padded cells. It''s my opinion that constantly telling yourself, players, media etc that you will struggle and how we need to dampen expectations is only going to filter down and become what the club is, what the players are, what the manager is. A bunch of strugglers. Spending £30m showed ambition, but once the final player came through the door last summer, that ambition stopped.
  11. Mentality. Ambition. Two key words that sum up what has been lacking since Hughton took charge here. At the start of the season Chris Hughton said he thought we''d "struggle", even after spending £30m on better quality players. He also said (to Geoff Shreeves on Sky), the night before our 0-0 draw at home to Cardiff, that "there was a limit to what could be achieved by the cub this season", and that it was his job to "dampen expectations of the fans and players". Why? Why dampen expectations? The same day as our draw with Cardiff, Southampton beat Fulham 3-0. After the game, Pochettino said ''There''s no limit to what these players can achieve''. If you do what you''ve always done, you''ll get what you''ve always got. Hence why we are getting very much the same as last season. The words Hughton uses, STRUGGLE, LIMIT TO WHAT CAN BE ACHIEVED, must filter down to the players. It shows a lack of belief in them. A lack of belief in himself. Some would say he''s being realistic but as Sir Fergie said in his book: It''s all about ambition. Some people are happy with a holiday 20 miles down the road, some are happy just to sit in their back garden, some want to go to the moon. It''s all about ambition. Our mentality is wrong. We have a limit on our ambitions. Our attitude is wrong. Completely wrong.
  12. Apparently Sherwood and Levy have fallen out. Surprise, surprise. Sherwood''s comments after Saturday''s game won''t sit too well either. I wouldn''t be unhappy if Tim Sherwood was our next manager. Would he come to a Championship club though? ;-)
  13. I suppose it more comes down to whether you can see us achieving at least 3 more wins this season. If you can''t, stick a bet on. If you can, don''t. I think 38 points will be enough. I won''t be betting against us, but I also can''t see us achieving three more wins this season.
  14. I think it''s more a case of them not having the guts to take the risk. In my opinion it was always going to be a bigger risk sticking with Hughton, and so it''s proving.
  15. Funny how now it''s too late to sack Hughton managers are now starting to poke their heads above the parapet. Very frustrating that we have to see out the season and perhaps get relegated with Hughton before we can change manager. I''d take either Lennon or Sherwood. We''d be going for Rosler based off of one result though, although he has guided Wigan towards the Play-Off positions since taking over. Time will tell with him. Currently I think we''re best just hoping we can get enough points with Hughton. The board have clearly messed up in not sacking him. He''s not good enough. I firmly believe McNally et al just didn''t really know what to do - so they did nothing!
  16. Sorry, didn''t see that you''d replied to my question. Missed it. Didn''t start this thread just to be awkward. It''s a genuine question which has yet to receive many genuine answers that back up why things are so right. Ok, we''re not in the bottom three, but neither are West Brom and yet they''d hardly see that as a massive positive considering their form. I wouldn''t consider it a massive positive for us either. Regarding Robin, I don''t actively use twitter myself but have an account so I can get updates from the club, players, pinkun etc. Monitoring Robin is quite comical. The way he overreacts to fans who dare to criticise. He''s a man who can''t stand anyone having a different opinion than his and I fail to see why he has a platform for those opinions. All I can see is a club man who likes to lick the a*ses of the players. If I''m not mistaken his profile picture is him with Snodgrass. And I believe the caption when that picture was uploaded said something so cringeworthy like: ''I am not worthy''. Deary me.
  17. Yes to Sherwood. Move Neil Adams into the first team setup too.
  18. Hey Morty, You didn''t answer me, what''s so right? Plus, I''ve heard Robin talk on Radio Norfolk, the man is so scared of criticising anything to do with the football club. Again, not sure why he has a platform for his opinion. The way he reacts on twitter to some people is nothing short of a disgrace. He''s like an overgrown child at times.
  19. Many fans who want Hughton out or fans who (god forbid) dare to criticise the team and/or Hughton when we lose or perform badly are often shouted down by a select bunch of people who feel that many fans don''t have the right to say anything remotely negative about NCFC, Chris Hughton or the players. Robin Sainty is somebody who I''d use as an example here. Not everyone will recognise this man''s name. He seems to have a column on here (not sure why) and a rather active twitter account where he shouts down anyone who dares to write anything remotely negative about Hughton, the team or the club. I''m unsure why someone like Robin is given a platform to voice his opinions, but that''s another matter. So my question to Robin and other fans like him (Morty etc etc) is: What''s so right? What''s so right about Chris Hughton? What''s so right about our results? What''s so right about our performances this season? What is so right that doesn''t give many fans THE RIGHT to be a little bit negative when they want to be? Look forward to your replies.
