  1. Sorry that is actually average attendance 15024 this season. Pathetic.
  2. After the hissy fitting on here about what Hoolahan (allegedly) said about the club, just wondered whether this was any different. Granted one was employed by the club at the time, and the other was not, but the sentiment expressed is very similar. One was just much less eloquent. There have been people calling for Hoolahan to apologise publicly, or be heavily fined, or made to train with the youths. But in light of one of the senior members of Hughton''s teams apparently having similar sentiments..... But it raises an important question anyway, are Birmingham fans more passionate and is football more important to them? Average attendance 19081 this season, shame they can''t be bothered to be passionate in their stadium, rather than on their sofa.
  3. I can''t help but feel that we are crying out for an attacking right back, an Olsson on the right. Kyle Naughton would be the obvious candidate if he becomes available. That £4m that we could have signed him for during his loan stay suddenly looks very cheap doesn''t it? The price then went to £6m, that also sounds cheap to me. We seem to do most of our build up play down the right with Snodgrass the usual outlet, but he really slows down our play. If we had a right back who could bomb forward like Olsson on the overlap then I think we''d really start to appreciate Snodgrass again. Lot''s of people say that the missing component is a number 10, but I''m convinced that an attacking right back who can link up with Snoddy and put in a killer ball would add a whole new dimension to our counter attacks. Martin would still have his uses, Whittaker should probably move on though (he''s on a four year deal though!).
  4. “This (Birmingham) is also a bigger club. Norwich have done superbly but, no disrespect to them, there is a ceiling to what they can achieve. “And after the clubs I have been at, like Rangers and Fulham, I have spent a lot of time in big cities. I like that. “Norwich is a quiet way of life and to come back to a big city was a big attraction. “The fans are more passionate – and the football more important.” Or just Ewan Chester?
  5. Yes stupid old Lady Luck, she has been hanging around for far too long now, over a year now that that we have struggled for goals. But of course you "make your own luck", and I would suggest that we start trying to make our own luck by changing the management team at the end of the season. "luck" has been used far too many times as an excuse now, ever since we hammered Cardiff at home with 33 shots and came away with a 0-0 thrashing we seem to have seriously struggled with luck in front of goal. Maybe Wiz has switched to the old blue and white and put a hex on our attacking players. I don''t believe in Harry Potter rubbish though, and "luck" doesn''t sit with me, so it remains Hughton''s responsibility to me, with his tenure coming to an end in early June with a ''thanks and good luck'' message.
  6. I don''t think he is the right man for the job long term, but no point in sacking him now. Will probably do enough to keep us up, then shake his hand and say thank you and goodbye. But for now we just need to let him get on with it. I''m very worried about our lack of goals. That is something that he has failed completely to address. He needs to move on for that reason, but he is here for the rest of this one and we need to get behind the team as long as they continue to put the effort in that they did today.
  7. We still can''t bury our chances. Would love to see stats on goals per chances (per team), we must surely be at the bottom of the table. You have to score goals to win games. We didn''t expect a result today, but we need goals between now and the end of the season to stay up. There is something that Stehrling and Ince have over Redmond....... goals. That''s why one of them will go to the World Cup this year and Redmond won''t. Really hope he can start chipping in with one or two, and Pilkington will hopefully hit the goal trail again if he stays fit.
  8. Is funny because Snodgrass was Mr Undroppable when he was in terrible form in the first half of the season. Starts playing much better and then gets dropped. He has played a lot of football though and will probably come back stronger after a rest. He was out injured for a bit and then has played pretty much every minute since. Rest will probably do him good.
  9. I was gutted to see that Kevin Nolan scored another brace today with Andy Carroll out. He was terrible against us last time but he has found his shooting boots again and that is two braces in a week. With Nolan coming into form, and if Carroll stays fit after his suspension, I can see West Ham staying up. I''d probably take a draw at Upton Park right now, still struggling to see where the wins are going to come from really.
  10. Was Bradley Johnson. Would need four or five hands to count with fingers the number of times that he threw his body in front of the ball or tracked back to block a cross. People are often critical of his passing but I think he generally does the simple job of breaking up play very well, is the best we have at doing that anchor man role. And what a debut Yobo had today. Good no nonsense centre half, very composed, if he can keep playing like that this season then wouldn''t be against him coming in next season, been saying for a while that we need an experienced head at the back, didn''t think Yobo would fit the bill but fair play he may to tick that box for us. I have a few negatives and criticisms that I shall keep to myself this week, because it was a great defensive performance and we created a few chances on the break which could have been goals (huge improvement on our performances in pretty much every other game against the top four this season, both in defence and attack). Need to keep grounded though, because we are probably going to need to carve out a couple more results against the big boys between now and the end of the season.
  11. You have some serious mental health issues lake district canary, seek help mate.
  12. Not that I could possibly damage your reputation any further than you are willfully doing yourself on a daily basis with your arrogant ''holiour than thou'' preacher-man rants.
  13. Well the difference between my signature and your signature lake district canary is that I''ve quoted you accurately, word for word, and you appear to have had to resort to completely misquoting me. I think everybody can see who the vindictive one. Knowingly falsely misrepresenting somebody in order to damage them is called defamation. Displaying an accurate quote which you can prove to be accurate is not defamation.
  14. I''m not going to pay attention to a single word that you say (/preach) again LDC. It is complete guff and the quote from today in my signature is the tip of the iceberg.
  15. Maybe this is all a betting scandal and a smart way to asset strip. Keep a failing manager in employment and get shills to go and lump thousands on the second favourite every few months. Rinse and repeat. It is a more advanced way of asset stripping than Mike Ashley''s (buy a football club and then make every sponsorship opportunity your businesses for free).
  16. Ooops, an hour too late and not the first to suggest.
  17. I''ve been on the look out for a forum signature for ages, thanks LDC. I think I''ve just realised that you are somebodies genius comic creation, like a Norfolk Karl Pilkington.
  18. Relegations 2011/12 Wolves (not back up) Blackburn (not back up) Bolton (not back up) Relegations 2010/11 Birmingham (not back up) Blackpool (not back up) West Ham (back up) Relegations 2009/10 Burnley (not back up) Hull (back up) Portsmouth (not back up)
  19. League One was only fun because we stumbled across a rising star of a manager and got out of it at first attempt. If we hadn''t have got straight back out we''d probably still be there now. Remember that we were subsidised by the season ticket rebate and a big cash gift by Michael Foulger. That was a couple of million quid which was there for one season only.
  20. Do you really think we will ever have a squad this strong again Indy? This will go down in history as the time that we had an amazing squad and blew it. If people think that RVW feels like a flop now, then imagine how it will feel when we consider £850k to be a big signing again and we face Kei Kamara wishing that he was ours.
  21. We can do nothing but suffer. I''m suffering.
  22. LDC, I don''t claim to know what will happen. I claim to know what I think will happen. I hope that you are right and that we do get a response out of the players, and that they get the sufficient number of points required to avoid the apocalyptic scenario in my original post. But the idea that this is going to be "exciting" is ridiculous, and that is the type of thing that a neutral would say.
  23. "I''m just not sure what it is that you do want to achieve" Well this is a thread on a discussion forum, which is aptly named ''main discussion''. So my primary objective was to evoke and embark on discussion, with the underlying hope that it wouldn''t evolve around wild assertions that I was in some way undermining a group of professional footballers who almost certainly should not be reading this forum.
