1. I remember mostly the goal he scored literally after arriving on the pitch against Chelsea (think it was Ashley Wards debut game). He was brought on as a sub at a corner. He ran up to the area the corner came in and he put it in the back of the net..... Crazy.....(As my brain is slightly addled by age, wasn''t the game he dyed his hair the one where we lost due to the Ullathorne back pass and Gunn air kick?)
2. Norwich Born, Norwich Bred. Season ticket for a lot of the 90''s. Barclay end, Block D, Row X, Seat 98. One in from the aisle. Managed to emigrate to the US in 2010. Not going to stop supporting us because I live in another country. Ironically enough, seen more of them since i''ve been over here than when I was living in the rest of the UK....
3.
Just a quick message to see who is out there.Have seen quite a few new(ish) American fans on the board recently....anyone out in Mexico??Will probably head to Texas to pick up a car and drive back down to D.F at some point in the future, so would be great to have a few contacts up that way for a beer or two.....Meanwhile, if there are any City fans in MExico City, would be great to get a supporters group started up!!
My brother is in Mexico City and is a Canary. He''s been out there about 5 years now. I know he regularly watches Norwich. I will try to get him to come on here to make contact
4. NFL/NBA (professional sports) don''t have nearly as much passion as the College sports over here. The College games are often watched by bigger crowds than their professional counterparts. With NFL/NBA teams, they are often franchises and as such can be moved to another city if the owner thinks it would be more profitable. College teams are supported by people who have gone to the college/university and the current student body. The UK does not have anything comparable to college sports. However, we do have 3/4 well watched leagues of professional football as well as well watched rugby. In the US you will find nothing below the NFL/NBA to the same extent we have Championship/League 1. Also, there is no relegation in the sports leagues here so there is often not the passion of last games of the season where 3/4/5 teams facing the prospect of relegation.(This also sounds a little topsy turvy as I am a Brit living in the US so I may have confused a few of my "here" and "us" etc and it might not make 100% sense)
5. Ok. As a follower of McNally on Twitter I can safely say there has been less jocular banter from him this season than there was last season.
6. And I currently reside in Charlotte, NC if anyone else is from there?
7. This might have been done on here before. But looking at the number of posts from people such as "Houston" Canary and "Portland" Canary and the late night posts. Who else is on here from the United States?
8. The Irony is that when things are going badly and we''re not doing very well, David McNally goes quiet as a mouse and doesn''t tweet anything and wont respond. However, the moment we win a game he acts like he''s top dog and knew what was going on all along...... Just saying
9. I still don''t like Hughton''s style of management. I don''t think he''s the right person to take Norwich forward. Yes I am thrilled we won today and we played really well in the first half and the defence actually paid off in the 2nd. But i still don''t rate Hughton and think it best if her left...... Just in case anyone thinks all the Hughton-doubters are gone
10.
@davidmcnally62: Great win today, thoroughly deserved with excellent all round team performance. However, my twitter timeline is very quiet. I wonder why? A view which has not gone unnoticed by a few posters on here as well!
the irony that he''s tweeted f.... all since the start of the season seems to have escaped him. The moment we win he sticks his head above the parapet and makes himself known.
11.
Has it occurred to you that Jem has very right to express his opinions. Thankfully there is no requirement to have a high post count to be able to choose when and in regard to what subject someone posts. Personally, I cant see any ''personal attack'' and I think Jem has been quite restrained and placatory in the way he has responded.
I too cannot see how this has turned into a personal attack on someone. I also cannot see how this thread has managed to keep going?
12. Could he be the Dutch Darren Beckford? Or maybe Hollands Dean Coney?
13. Great win for us today. Thought that Olsson played pretty well today apart from a slight error at the start of the second half. I believe he was only playing cause of injury to Garrido. Do you think he''s done enough to keep his place in the team? I think he should definitely be starting next week regardless of Garrido being fit or not.
14.
wherer TF did 4 mins come from???
I''m wondering that. No injuries, no major stoppages? Hughesie Time?
15.
Stoke were obviously going to come out after half-time with a bit more fight, especially with two new players on. The lack of belief by some in their own team is abhorrent.
I love the word "Abhorrent". No sarcasm. I think it''s a great word and I salute you for your use of it
16. COOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! You beauties
17. I''m not quite sure what you would like me to say? I also find the tone you imply quite threatening. If i do have problem (which I don''t cause i''m not sure quite where you are going) what are you suggesting you will do? I don''t think that there is any need for you to behave like this.
18. And last season they beat Chelsea in the final of the cup!!!! The performance of the U-18''s has no bearing on the first team whether there is any voodoo involved or not! Lets hope we win anwyays
19. Wow. My buddy? You''re really clutching at straws here Nigel. Is there any need for this?
20.
3 of those teams are so high in the table hecause they got 3 points from us. 2 of those 3 should have gotten nothing. Instead, we got nothing and are nesr last place. Just saying.
Bang on
21.
David Mooney (lol!) scored for Leyton Orient today
Seriously. I''d forgotten about him
22. I think the point of the post was missed. I was pointing out that everytime anyone anti hughton posts something the same arguments are used against them. I''m just pointing out that I don''t expect us to win the league, beat spurs 10-0 and all the things that get levelled against anit-Hughton people. We can want hughton out and not have unrealistic expectations of our plight. As for the Hobnob business. It''s been levelled at me on twitter several times now and I find it funny. To suggest that i was trying to promote infighting was slightly wide of the mark and not my intention if that was the case. I support Norwich and always will even if I dislike the style of the current regime.
23. Just saw that Sammy Clingan scored a screamer past Fraser Forster in the Scottish Prem game today. Just made me wonder if anyone knew how many former Norwich Players are still plying their trade around the leagues? All those loan players we''ve had as well. I reckon there must be a fair few ex-canaries banging around? Just for a post that doesn''t involve the usual subjects
