1.
Does anyone know how Ayala is getting on? I''m guessing he''s injured again as he hasn''t really featured for Forest - anything serious? Maybe Hughton knew something we didn''t when he farmed him out on loan somewhat surprisingly.   Any news on Vaughan''s latest injury? Last I heard was that Grayson was desperately trying to reassure fans that his injury woes had not returned to haunt him. Again, the decision to loan him out was questionned by many but if he remains unable to compete for more than a handful of games at a time then I think it will prove to have been the right decision.   I notice Zak Whitbread - who a lot of us were disspointed to see go - has also been injured again and not really featured for Leicester.
Incorrect - Zak is fully fit, he is just sat on the bench watching LCFC''s first choice centre back partnership of Wes Morgan and Sean St Ledger play week in week out.
 2.
Chris Woods 1986, I don''t believe he played at all though.
Chris Woods was most certainly in the 86'' squad, number 3 behind Shilton and Gary Bailey at the time wasn''t he?Fleck and Gunn were both in Scotland''s 1990 squad http://www.planetworldcup.com/CUPS/1990/squad_sco90.htmlFleck hardly got a chance, having to sit and watch an aged Gordon Durie partner his one time Rangers nemisis McCoist upfront.  While Gunny had to sit and watch Jim Leighton flap at a late Costa Rica winner that all but dumped Scotland out of the competition after the first match, with Brazil to play in their final group game. Not sure that he ever played a game for us, but how about Wynton Rufer in New Zealand''s 1982 squad?
 3.

Well according to you lot there were no better candidates out there than Hughton for the NCFC job in the summer.I have suggested numerous candidates who were better imo and have even given you the name of my preferred choice.
And your number one choice above the others you named (I have rather lost count of how many it was) was Neil Lennon. Who apart from a League Cup victory with Leicester has never won anything as a player or manager outside the increasingly absurd bubble of Scottish football.
Lennon actually won the League Cup twice and had 4 top ten Premier League finishes (following winning promotion through the play-offs) during his 4 years as a player at Leicester and he was also a runner up in the 98/99 League Cup Final. Not bad for a player of a club that is a similar size to NCFC hey?Remind me how great you would consider a NCFC player or manager to be if they could achieve similoar in a 4 year period at Carrow Road.Prior to this Lennon was Captain at Crewe Alexandra I believe.  Crewe won promotion from Div 3 (3rd tier) for the first time in their history while Lennon was there in 1994.  In the same year, Lennon became the first Crewe Alexandra player to gain an International cap for 60 years when he was selected to play for Northern Ireland against Mexico.Again he had a major impact at a club.We all know about his time at Celtic.  We also know that Celtic could not afford to keep him if a Premier League Club did want to offer him the chance of doing it in England.  It''s unlikely that Lennon will ever take a job at a Championship club as the majority of them would not be able to afford to buy him out of his contract at Celtic.Personally I think that Lennon is well worth the gamble and that it is no more of a gamble than you take on employing any manager.I believe that your - but he''s never managed outside of Scotland viewpoint is very weak.
 4.
So you didn''t score a diving header? I''m disappointed. Have you ever scored a diving header? It''d make my day if you have.
Why would it make your day?  Probably a long time ago, before I had a shiny bonce!
 5.
Smudge, I can''t believe how mean you''re being about the King of Spain! Is this not the player who only a few seasons ago (League 1?) kindly let you wrap your arms around him outside Carrow Rd or Colney, in a fashion very much reminiscent of a small girl meeting One Direction, or, Jimmy Savile before he went bad? Shame on you!
It was Charlton (a) and I was very drunk and coaxed in to it by a fellow poster on here.It was as much a piss take as it was an appraisal of his finer footballing skills as you would have known if you were with us.
 6.
If you told me your really Mungo now, it''d make my week. And nice of you to finally admit your OP was pointless (as that was the start of the ''debate''). Seriously now, if you really wanted a actually discussion. Be a bit more sensible with your OP. Did you really expect a sensible response? Go back and read it, work out which football team this forum is for, and ask yourself if that is really a suitable first post for starting a debate for a new poster on an internet forum that seems to attract more than its fair share of ''trolls''.
Well it strikes a cord with my first ever post on this messageboard more than likely. But then I forgot that I am a blatant binner and troll and whatever else certain folk have cared to mention over the years.Ask yourself this question though.  If a pack attacks a fairly outlandish post by a new poster and in return offers nothing but ridicule, what kind of response do you think that will receive?I would guess that it is better to assume that acolytes post was very naive.  That''s what I believe but perhaps that is just me being naive - either way I couldn''t care less.  If I''m being naive then it is no more naive than I see many others being here, with some having their strings pulled by others.  An old wiseman once said that there were two sides to every coin. This kind of thing has happened so many times though it does not surprise me in the slightest.
 7. It''s ok GP.It''s just my opinion that no matter outlandish you find this new posters views (and yes a few of those views were obviously put there to bait others), it is still better to be polite and tell him what you disagree with rather than give him abuse in return. We now have over 7 pages of what is little more than school playground stuff that offers no discussion on football or anything of any comedic value that adds to this website in any positive way.I have managed to tell acolyte where I disagree with him without upsetting him and I suppose to him that I am closer to being with you more positive lot than his "get Hughton out now" stance?  Yet the comments that acolyte made in his initial post failed to strike a cord with me as I don''t consider that her/his comments referred to me anyway, as I don''t see myself as overly positive or overly negative. Why do we have 7 pages of petty arguements rather than people discussing why they feel that the OP''s comments are so wrong? They''re obviously wrong as the late great Cloughie would have said - young Mr Hughton has not had enough time to find the local butcher''s shop yet!  However, I do not think that they are as wide of the mark as some of the comments in repsonse make her/him out to be.  I believe it''s a case of the directors keeping an eye on Hughton and setting targets that he and his team need to reach over the coming month or two.  Obviously these targets should not be made public, but it isn''t too difficult to imagine what they might be.I''m happy to discuss opinions here.  I don''t see why you and other posters aren''t.  It is supposed to be a NCFC football discussion forum afvter all.  Respond to others posts in the correct manner, or don''t bother responding at all.  Anything else and the pack on here will be more than happy to pounce on it I am sure.
 8. I haven''t downgraded anyones opinion GP.  As far as I can see it is only myself and acolyte who have given an opinion on this thread so far.Why don''t you try giving your opinion on the subject matter and balance it with your own personal view rather than attacking the OP?Once you have given me your opinion I will be happy to accept it until you are proven either correct or incorrect. How many points do you think that we will have by December and how many do you think that we will have by Christmas if Hughton is still our manager? My answer to that question would be that I do not know, but I am fearful that it could be less than 10 points by December and less than 15 points by Christmas.  If that is the case then I would by that stage be expecting out board of directors to be issuing some ultimatums to our new management team and results to improve with immediate effect, or sackings to be made. How can I downgrade anyones opinion when they haven''t given an opinion? All I see is a pack attacking the OP, while offering none of their own opinions to ad to the debate.
 9.
To be fair to him, he did alright for us, scored and assisted some important goals for us. A victim of our rapid rise like askou
I''ll leave you with Jimmy Smith''s post - no relation honest.I will then just ask, why you saw the need to ridicule my posts stiking up for McNamee and not his?End of my input to this subject.
 10.
One''s a defensive player the other is an attacking player. How are these comparisons in anyway useful. How many of MacNamee''s games were at left back!
How many of Lappins were?
 11.
I don''t even like city1st.... I''m just trollin'' the night away man. Its cos'' i''m way cool. (well actually its because I have nothing better to do, other than dissertation research, but thats boring...) Go and read your posts. Even a stupid halfwit no brained mongoose would realise your being a little ''silly''.
This place makes your dissertation look boring?  What are you studying?
 12. How many points do you think that we will have come the Start of December, or by Christmas if Hughton remains in charge acolyte?I am assuming that all of the positive brigade expect us to have a minimum of 10 by December and more than 15 by Christmas?I also expect that they will be here offering you apologies if we haven''t got that many points and they have started to change their opinion of Hughton by then?Of course we will never know as these people do not dare put their thoughts in clear writing for us all at this stage.Like I said pack mentality! [N]
 13.
Thanks smudger [Y]for standing up for me (a bit), why do some people insist on destroying other peoples opinions?Hughton out  - Unless he can get us to a minimum of 10 points by December or a minium of 15 points by Christmas
That''s ok acolyte.  Never like to see a person rounded on for thinking differently to others.  I have amended part of your post above though. For the weak ones it is far, far safer to stay in a pack.Would much rather hear their personal opinions on how long they would give Hughton and how many points they expect us to have by December and Christmas, rather than a lot of what we are getting, but I guess that many are waiting for a few others opinions before they feel safe enough to give their own.  They wouldn''t like to break ranks with the majority, leaving themselves open to ridicule would they?
 14. Hope you are right and I am wrong, but I would be very surprised indeed if we get 9 points out of November.
 15.
why does everybody suddenly think that after Saturdays game against arsenal we will all of a sudden go on a winning run? I admire the optimism but where does it come from?
Villa = LStoke = DReading = DMan Utd = DEverton = LSouthampton = D3 points Alternatively I think that we will get an additional point by beating either Stoke or Reading, but I think if we win either of those two games then we will lose to Man Utd.So with a maximum of 4 points I see us entering December with a maximum of 7 points.  The Sunderland game at home should then be win or bust for Hughton.
 16.
I never said he was worthy of a place in the PL squad. He''s not. But he is, Lambert thought he was, Hughton thinks he is. I personally feel those two professional footballer managers judgement on the matter is probably more realistic than ours. But seriously, Lappin, he''s done more than McNamee, stats aren''t needed. The fact he''s played like 100 more games show that.
38 of Lappin''s 121 games were prior to us being relegated from the Championship. At least get the stats correct.Lappin 114 games, 3 goals at League 1, Championship and Cup Football between the Summer of 2006 (when he signed for NCFC) and May 2011 when we were promoted to the Prmier League.I think that McNamee got 5 or 6 goals for various clubs in the same period.  I also believe that McNamee scored 1 goal in 32 appearances (many of which were substitute appearances) for NCFC.Those are the stats which I found courtesy of your source Wiki anyhow.Hardly a massive difference in the two players I would say.I am sure that any stats on assists or any other part of these two players games over a similar period in time would have a big difference in the stats that they provide us with either. Some just choose to forget everything good that some players did for us.
 17. When a few more points are in the bag we may reappraise this [;)]
 18.
Lambert?! A clue.Hard-core tories don''t like him, while the left think he is her love-child.......
Oh I see Mr C?Or is that 3 strikes and I''m out? [:$]They could always have Boris.
 19.
Lappin has 2 goals for Norwich. McNamee 1. (well according to Wiki) Therefore Lappin wins.
How many appearances for each?I also believe those stats to be incorrect.Even if they are correct it is one more goal, in probably less appearances covering the same two year period.I will await details on assists and last ditch challenges that warrant a place in a Premier League squad for the second successive season.  I am also looking forwards to seeing where Lappin is used in a League game this season with all of those midfielders that Hughton purchased.  Perhaps Garrido and Tierney will be injured at the same time?
 20.
Which people are they Smudger? Who is ''still'' in our squad from them that has done less than McNamee? Lappin and Martin would be the obvious targets, but if you think they''ve done less than super Ant then, well, I quit.
Well one of them has certainly done no more than McNamee.  I will leave it up to you to provide all the details of the goals, assists and goal saving tackles that prove otherwise though.
 21. Gareth posted - "In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."EXACTLY!
 22.

Because the opening post wasn''t the start of a debate, it was a load of bol**cks .
No, it was simply an opinion that you don''t agree with and I don''t agree with.  The reason why we do not agree with the OP''s view though may be entirely different.  Either way, surely you are better telling the OP why you do not agree with his viewpoint rather than hurling abuse at him?
 23. He done far more for NCFC than certain people who are still in our squad.Without his contributions we could well still be in League 1 or the Championship Mr Chops, but that doesn''t really suit yours and others unwarranted abuse of a player whose contributions allowed us to get out of both of those Leagues does it?Good job I don''t go about bringing up all the individuals who you supported who got us relegated to League 1 in the first place isn''t it?Try and stick to your funnies if I were you.
