  1. Great post smooth.Strikes me that he has the personality one would associate with our club. Style of play similar to Holt, Morison, and CMS, non stop, in the defenders face.
  2. Hooper and Rhodes would cost at least £2m more. And where is the evidence of him being a big time Charlie. Playing for Doncaster?
  3. Donny chairman says on Sky he is available for £3m from Jan 1st. 25 years old, proven at Champ level, plays high tempo chasing game, right attitude and I would think cheaper than Rhodes. Thoughts?
  4. I''m in the ''Strengthen midfield'' camp.Johnson is integral, but he cannot play at the tempo he does and not get injured/suspended. Fox is too lightweight, certainly for a 4 man midfield. There has been talk of Frimpong, we will need to shift a loanee, hope we buy Naughton, to get the Arsenal star. If not, someone like Trotter at Millwall would fit the bill. High energy and can score a goal or two. We have looked better 442, in my opinion. Gives us greater threat and ability to win games. I think Hoolahan coming on late when the game is stretched is a great tactic to have up our sleeve.I like Onouha at Man City, young with Prem experience and bags of pace, would be ideal for our defence.
  5. Bizarrely seems to be the same team as the Swansea game five years previous!!!!!!!
  6. On Twitter, quote ''Is it time for a new chapter hmmmm ?'' and ''Come to see my nan at hospital she always make me happy :) When u get bad news !!!'' Lots of tweets pestering him for an answer, watch this space........................
  7. For what it is worth, my opinion is that PL has bought wingers so that our full backs stay in a more solid back four next season. We were exposed with the diamond at times last season, when our full backs pushed forward at every opportunity, so the wingers give us a more solid 4-4-2 option or even 4-5-1 away with Wes off Holt/Morrison. and  2of Johnson/Croft/Fox sitting.Just my thought.
  8. You are close, ish. Just struggling for 5 letter centre half
  9. So says McNally on Twitter.........
  10. Marvin, many people have been very creative over the past few years and have found various ways and means of ''seeing'' things on the first day backAside from Marvin, has anybody been able to see/hear anything from today?
  11. Just seen James Vaughan on Twitter saying that he enjoyed his first day, made to feel welcome.Anybody been up there? Any gossip? All squad present? Any new sightings? Any questions I''ve missed out?
  12.                                          WoodsCulverhouse              Watson        Bruce              Bowen Fox                           Crook        Peters                Huckerby                                  Sutton          BellamySubs;GunnForbesPhelanGordonO''NeillMcDougallAshtonVery attacking, lacking defensive cover but would take some stopping if all were in their prime when going forward....
  13. Respect your opinion IS but why slate people because they don''t agree? You like him, fair enough......''c) and is a young local lad who is already far more successful than they will ever be?'' Come on, lets just recognise that people see different things in games and players....I don''t rate Martin at this level and, in my opinion, at best, he will be 5th striker and can''t see him accepting another loan.
  14. Yellow Little, we are all entitled to our opinion and I''m not jumping on any bandwagon, merely basing my opinion on what I see week in week out.You quote one game out of 46 last season, I know he was injured for part, but he played 30 odd games and all I can recall is a half decent performance in the game you mentioned. I''m not saying he lacks potential, but that potential has to be realised and now our club has progressed so quick to its current state, then players need to move as quick or move on.Sorry I don''t agree but I''m also not jumping on any bandwagon.....
  15. Technique - yes, attitude, application - no. None of us knows what goes on behind the scenes but many stories have come out indicating big issues with his commitment and his off field activities getting in the way of his career.Played well in League 1, but, last season, for me, pale imitation of that player and no pace. Not a midfield player, no engine, never seem him play there other than for 10 minutes or so. Can''t see what home grown has to do with it, not good enough for this level, in my opinion.1 million at best for me.
  16. I agree, quality back up for Holt, would not be surprised to see CMS also. People say it''s lots of money but we need cover for injuries suspensions, loss of form and there is no loan market in the Prem. We need 5 forwards, 2 target men. All of them seem to reflect the type of forward Lambert likes, hungry, high work ethic.HoltCMSMorisonJacksonVaughanSell Martin, Johnson and Cody. This will do for me.....Now 5 centre half''s...
  17. Started to follow Alex Aldridge, local Millwall press reporter on Twitter. Has just tweeted that he is expecting news on Morison today. I asked whether he expected transfer to happen, he replied''Yeah will happen soon''Looks like things are a movin''...
  18. Ah, the voice of wit and repartee could not stay away.......I think I would look at you last post and ask yourself the same question, where have I asked for any thanks or gratitude for starting a thread?Anyway, unlike many people on here I can''t be bothered to be goaded by you, I will leave you to pick holes in other peoples views with your very funny, witty comments and will read in disdain from afar....
  19. Fair point re Whitbread, excluded him as he did not play a major role. Thanks for taking the time to understand the post and put your point of view over in an mature manner. Makes a change from the current crop of users and the sad old gits on here every day..............Morty, cough, cough.....
  20. Where have I said that lambert has been devious, merely pointed out that he plays the psychological game very well and pointed out some examples, one which came to light to me the past few days. Why is it that an innocuous post is met with criticism and in Morty, holier than thou''s case, a sense of derision. If you don''t agree with the post or fail to understand it, don''t bother replying with a Eh! just don''t. My post count would be so so much higher if every time I saw a Morty irrelevancy, I decided to post.Rant over and another poster lost to the Pink ''un inbreds....
  21. Because he has me.......I spend most of my days/weeks telling friends and business colleagues that he has brought us up on a shoestring with the same players, these players have been great for him since he has been here, la la la......One look, though, at Saturdays first 11 and, only three survivors from the regular 11 of last season, Holt, Hoolahan and Martin. He has the Fergie touch in terms of building a picture he wants us all to follow and we do it.....Fantastic psychological games this guy can play, we all hear it week in week out on Canary Call, but nothing until Friday morning when we get the same, great bunch of players, been great for me since I''ve been here......... and we all take it in..... BTW, this is not a criticism, or a subject up for debate, merely an individual observation, get that in before the petty squabbling starts!!!!!
  22. Agree, although Ronaldo was not an out and out winger for United, but, we split hairs......The tune is great though........
  23. Thanks YC, my suggestion.Sounds great when United and Real sing it, it''s quite original for this country but sounds like a football song, some of these made up ones seem too forced and people don''t sing them if they are too long winded.....
