2.
This is all true but those regimes that fall into this category tend to cling to their position as long as possible.  Look at mugabe.
I think the comparison to Mugabe is a tad dramatic! The original post is spot on tho''
 3. Just a hunch but I think we may get Phillips. Good or bad?
 4.
It sounds like talks aren''t underway because he still hasn''t made an offer to buy the shares yet. Whilst the implied offer of £20 million in the transfer kitty in return for the majority ownership of the club might be great for the fans it isn''t great for the shareholders. Whilst I would like the board to be open about what is going on, they have made clear what their asking price is. Now it''s time for PC be clarify the exact details of what his offer is. Perhaps the board think there has been no progress on PC''s side since discussions last took place and therefore further discussions aren''t worthwhile at this point in time. We only know the details that the board and PC wish to be made public.
I agree with what you say but the club is leading us to believe that they are not even entering discussions ( the seem to be treating PC the same way a double glazing salesman would. Contentious and arrogant if you ask me.
 5. By the way West_London_Canary, where in WL are you....I''m in St Margarets, Richmond and was beginning to think I was the only canary in the mine!
 6.
If the board keep refusing to meet Peter Cullum how long do we give it, and what is our best plan of action?
If this offer is turned down, the only way to get D''s attention is to boycott the games and get 10,000 standing outside the ground chanting "Delia Out" with megaphones.
 7.
I expect the Board the release a statement from the club very soon to somehow explain their side, if they don''t then there takeing us all for mugs!
Totally agree, there must be a full explanation to the fans as to why talks are not underway ( Unless this is all just a smokescreen until all the new signings are completed, if so, then well done Delia + PC but don''t do it again please, my blood pressure can''t handle it!)
 8.
I''m sure that people will correct me when I say that insolvency is when you can''t pay your bills, and have to rely upon a third party to sort out the debt.  We''re not in that situation.
As above, Insolvent simply means your debt is greater than your fixed assets ie what you own.
 9. Anything in this? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_3766517,00.html
 10.
I think you could be right. The board would face a huge backlash from fans if after Cullums potential investment figures were made public, nothing happened and we struggled on the same as in recent seasons!
We can''t afford to struggle on...Our profit has gone from £9m to £3m to £0.little m in the last three years, without investment we will be gone and bust in 2 yrs max
 11.
I don''t think the deal is done, it is my understanding that if any share holder wants to sell there shares, they have to offer them to the existing share holders first, meaning that they would have to send out a letter to all the share holders.
The deal can be agreed and not signed (which would make it public) and funds for purchases can be made available behind the scenes.
 12.

I find it hard to believe PC was not informed of the £56m situation last year. These deals ( including the £20m offer last year ) are always negotiated/offered by professional negotiators backed up by solicitors and no stone is ever left unturned, therefore we have to assume that PC knew the buy out clause would be triggered.
Yes - of course he knew. The club press release was purely for public consumption in light of the EDP interview yesterday. Cullum appears to have gone public to speed things along and get the locals on his side to put a squeeze on the board. The board responded to set the standard ground rules clear and let folks know that Cullum needs to negotiate up. the nature of the plain figures might also be to get Cullum to publish his actual buy-out figures too - not just the headline-grabbing £20mill for the transfer budget.
Yes - but going public is also a very clever smokescreen, saying the deal isn''t done (when it may be) in order to give GR time to get his signings sorted. We all know what happens to prices when clubs think you''ve got money.

Whatever the source for the leak this week, the fact remains that PC has confirmed his offer is still on the table. FACT PC raised £60m recently. FACT Norwich have been linked to several "rather expensive players" recently FACT Few of these players have been purchased by other clubs. FACT Norwich must make "quite a few" signings in the very near future, if we want 11 players on the pitch come Aug 9th. FACT In conclusion, the speculation over the £20m could be a smokescreen to conceal the real deal that has already been agreed ie £56m. By making the £56m club statement, Delia has set up a situation where both She and PC will look like angels when it is announced. Delia giving the fans what they want and PC the new hero. The deal can not be confirmed until all signings are made for obvious reasons...the first indication that the deal has been agreed will surely be the signings of players that in GRs words " may raise a brow or two" This is the only conclusion that makes sense of the whole situation to me, am I wrong? What do you think?
There is no deal yet, because ALL Ordinary share holders would have received a letter from PC with an offer to buy their shares
I think Britain 40th wealthiest person has a few ways of being shrewd!
 14. Not if the money was agreed and waiting to be signed, with an initial amount available to the club for players, this would delay public knowledge.

 16. I think you''re right, just looked further into this and it appears he refused to sell to Candover. Still, as you say, it does give an example of his potential assets if he wishes to realise some.
 17. Tycoon Peter Cullum bags a fortune at £3bn insurer (Times, Feburary 08)  div#related-article-links p a, div#related-article-links p a:visited { color:#06c; } THE insurance tycoon Peter Cullum is in talks to sell a 25% stake in his business to a private-equity group in a deal that will value his company at more than £3 billion. Cullum, one of Britain’s most successful entrepreneurs, is preparing to sell part of his company, which is called Towergate, to the buyout firm Candover. At present he controls a 70% stake. It is thought that even after the new investment he will still control significantly more than half of the group. Some of the £850m to be raised from the sale will be distributed among Cullum’s top team ahead of changes to the capital-gains-tax regime in April. The remainder will be reinvested in the business. --------------------------------------------------- Dear Mr Cullum, Please scrape a little loose change, say £56 million give or take a few quid and shake Delias hand. We would love you forever and ever!
 18. Sounds genuine, so long as Archant have City approval to release the info, otherwise it could mess up Roeders plans?
 19. I''ve heard that 2 Leicester players could be on the way in ( N''Gotty & Oakley ) Just a rumour and no I don''t know anyone at the club, colney or asda.
 20.
After the clueless Roeder''s savage cull of gifted players, we suggest that the treatment of our brave young lads at Carrow Road has been shoddy and poorly judged, and we would like as many Norwich City supporters as possible to join our facebook group to make sure our young talented potentially world-beating players are given one more chance to shine and so Roeder can see the error of his ways - but also, to let us say goodbye properly if he is stubborn as well as foolish. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=26696221202 Please join if this hurts you like it hurts us.
Another Binner trying to be funny ( or some 3rd yr student with too much shandy ) at least this one has some comprehension of the English language but like all, no understanding of managerial tact.
 21. It''s nothing.....just Delia raffling off what we can''t sell!
 22.

I think like you that we''ll get several players unveiled in one go which could be when Hoolahan gets back from his holiday on the 28th June if of course he is on holiday.
If thats the case why did we bother announcing Clingan ?
Simple really, Bosman Free Transfer = no conflict of interest and gave the fans something to cheer

OTBC
 24. Glenn Roeder would NOT have joined Norwich if there were only minimal funds available and no prospect of financial assistance if he kept us in the Championship, loan signings and clear outs were a preperation for convincing the future investment by "others" that GR and Norwich are serious.
 25. Talk about it sure, but some people are either A,spreading false rumours B,believing false rumours. C,upsetting their daily lives because of A+B. D,drinking excessively because of A+B+C.  and E for all of the above!
