1.
I''m a big Wes fan, i don''t hide that, but can''t ya see the benefit in keeping him? Surely a creative person when games are looking dull and we should be winning would be just the tonic to come off the bench? Do people really think we are going to get so much money that it will make a difference to us anyway? I''ve said before that he could play off one striker scenes as we only have one really good striker. Of course the left is Lappin''s, but that isn''t the only choice we should be offering. Lapping isn''t so good that he''s going to look great in every game.
Wes wouldn''t be contept with sitting on the bench everygame. He is not a team player. While I do not deny his ability, I think he thinks he is too good for this league, and his attitude is not the best as shown against Wycombe, where he came off the bench and looked disinterested. If Lambert could make him happy to be a squad player and play as part of the team, I could see massive benefits to him staying, but I just dont think he is the right player for our team at the moment. Lappin has a better all-round game than Hoolihan, contributing way more in defence, and his ability to put in a decent ball 90% of the time, when hoolihan beats the defender like 4 times, then gets tackled. As for Doc... Cheerio, Cheerio, Cheerio :P
2. Seems not - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/8219879.stm Theres no mention of Theo when asked about the goalie, seemed to lean towards Rudd.
3.
Theo Spillane Doc Askou Drury Adeyemi Gill Wes Whaley Martin Holt 4-3-3 seemed to produce our best results in pre-season against Wigan, Raith, Airdrie & Man U Reserves I would keep Theo because unlike all you peope in Norwich I live in Sydney & have watched the A-League for the past 5 years and Theo is a class keeper. I agree he was an absolute disgrace against Colchester but he is a class keeper, & his main weapon is his consistency. He''s been given one game & you can''t judge a player on one game.
Totally Agree with your comments about Theo. I do watch the A-league occasionally and have seen him be top. However, if Lambert thinks that Theo doesn''t fit the bill, we need to make a decision soon. Either sign a new one, or play Rudd. We cant have a loanee as our no.1 keeper. However. with regards to your team, I would rather whack Spillane or Dejan in the center instead of Doc, and but good ''ol Jonny Otsemobor at right back. There is a reason why he was in the league one team of the year when we signed him. He hasn''t become a bad player overnight. Maybe with the right coaching we can give his carrer a kick start. Also maybe with the right CBs as cover he would have the confidence to improve as a player.
4. I definately rate Adeyemi more that OTJ and Gill. However, I''m worried if he becomes a regular name on the team sheet and puts in a few useful performances, that he could be snapped up in January for some rediculously low fee, for someone who has to be one of the hottest English youth talent coming through the ranks now. I think we have the squad of players to challenge in this league, and, although we could do with 1 or 2 quality loans, a CB for definate, that wiht the right coaching and tactical nouse we should be banging those goals in.
5. What do you guys think? Is our main problem our slow CBs, Doc &Co. AKA Cruise ships ''r'' us? Or is it in the Midfield? With OTJ and Gill not performing? And not creating any chances for our front men? It even could be in our GKs, with our no.1 being a 3 month Loanee, and our no.2 Shipping in 7 against, lets face it, a mediocre Colchester team? How far do you reckon Gunny''s 12 signings actually improved the squad or do you think Lambert will have to look elsewhere for some much needed quality to the squad? If this Chinese takeover goes on, and its not all a load of total crap, presumably we would have much needed transfer funds. Who, realistically could we atttract to the team? Personally I reckon we need some new life breathed into the Defence, with Doc being got rid of, and a new captain being made. But who could that be? We''ve only got 1 or 2 candidates at our club atm, so we may even need to buy one of those!!! And Finally, last question, What finishing position would you be pleased with Lambert if he achieved it?
6. Maybe he can teach Doc to be quick :) And Nelson for that matter :D
7.

Theo Doc Nelson Askou Otsemobor Gill Adeyemi Lappin Hoolahan Cureton Martin Apparently acoording to Colney Spy on Twitter??
If this is right then surely it''s supposed to form up more like this?: Theo Doc Nelson AskouSemmy Lappin Gill Adeyemi Hoolahan Curo Martin Which looks slightly better at the back. I''d play Holt and Cody though. And it''s the wing back thing which leads to Semmy so I''d go more orthodox and play Spillaine.
Quite like that team actually... I''d keep faith with Semmy in that formation, I think that run in the first 10 mins in Colchester showed how destructive he could be. Think we need CBs that are quicker than cruise ships though... We can only hope that Askou can at least keep up with Clive Platt, Unlike Doc and Nelson. Also would liek to see Cody starting upfront, and maybe Hughes instead of Gill. But I think this would bring a welcome change of formation to the side.
8. I reckon there will be around 15,000... Similar to Saturday where most of the Jarrold and City stand will be full
9. I think we have the squad to be up there, its just the question of weather Gunny can sort the tactics/motivation out!!! So I''d say yes, at the moment!
10. To be honest, on soem level, I think going down can only be a step in the right direction. Bear with me, but had we have stayed up - it would have been seen as a huge success, and nothing would have been done about it, and no doubt next season we would have been in the same position. At least, going down should knock some sense into the football club. Now everyone must realise Gunn is not the man for the job, and we can move on. Going down can only mean a total rehaul of our squad, and that can only be a good thing.
