  1. According to a couple of people on twitter, Neil Lennon has dismissed the Vaughan rumours as speculation. Not sure myself as so many usually reliable sources seem positive that he''s gone. I''d like to see him stay, he''s started well in preseason and hopefully he can carry that form into the new season.
  2. @kingsway WBA didn''t want him because he wanted to play as a centre back rather than a centre midfielder. @mikemiddle Wasn''t aware that he was on 40k a week, that is too steep for us obviously. That said I do think that he has the right qualities, even at 32, to add something to our backline...
  3. Just out of contract at West Brom and wants to play as a centre back from now on. He could provide that leadership we''ve been lacking back there and he''s got Prem experience as well... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7873128/Baggies-learn-Martins-price
  4. This topic always brings up the same reply- people don''t want goal music.
  5. With both Lambert and Holt looking like they are heading for the exit, it is time to re-invoke one of the few worthwhile phrases of Glenn Roeder''s ill-fated reign. It is time for new heroes to emerge at Carrow Road. Who these people are is yet to be determined but I look forward to finding out. I would like to see us build on the Lambert model i.e. buying smartly from the lower leagues, but there is no one way to be a success in the Premier League with a club the size of Norwich. Regardless of what happens next season we will have had at least two seasons in the Premier League and we have a much more stable financial footing on which to build in the future.
  6. Holt was advertising his appearance on McVeigh''s show just yesterday, and you would have thought that if he had planned his request that he would not have agreed to be there. Of course this is all speculation but do you think that it may have been prompted by a disagreement with Lambert or another member of the staff? Its not been said whether it was a formal request, so it may have just been a spur of the moment thing. Also, Holt, like all other players had a meeting with Lambert the other day, would that not have been an opportune moment to submit such a request?
  7. With the appointment of Gary Neville to the England staff do you think that Ruddy and Holt might have a greater chance of selection than previously? Neville wrote a glowing article on Norwich in the Mail a month or so ago, especially praising Holt and Ruddy so he obviously admires them as players. I know he doesn''t pick the team, and Roy may well have decided who''s going to the Euro''s already, but it could be beneficial for their future England prospects to have Neville on the coaching team.
  8. Always thought he was a skilful player, and he''s on the transfer list at Posh for refusing to sign a new contract. While I''m never too keen on giving Barry and mini-Fergie more money he might be a decent, relatively inexpensive acquisition to play on the left-wing. Not entirely sure he''s good enough for the Prem but might be worth a look. Thoughts?
  9. I''m feeling weirdly optimistic about tomorrow''s game, so I''ll go 3-1 to City. Vaughan, Holt and Fox to score for us, Walcott for the Gunners.
  10. From the tenor of his recent comments, and the feeling that we as a team are running out of steam, I think that our dear leader may well be on his way out at the end of this season. I am not sure what his destination will be, but I think for him personally, the time is ripe for an upwards move. He has taken us to Premier League safety in relative comfort, and after successive promotion seasons what is left for him to achieve here bar a gradual creep up the ranks of mid-table dullness? Though it may be painful to admit (especially given our excellent season), he is more likely to achieve European qualification with the investment available at a club like Villa than he is Norwich. I do not want Lambert to go, because under his tenure I have seen some of the most memorable Norwich performances in my lifetime, but I am increasingly convinced that the time is nigh for his departure.
  11. Excellent, thats exactly what I was looking for, thanks very much KIO!
  12. I remember a fan of another team (Stoke I think) posting a link to his whimsical weekly review of the Premier League. Does anybody know the website? I''ve looked around for it but haven''t been able to find it.

  14. Impartiality is an impossibility. Read Foucault, Edmund Carr or any number of other theoreticians and you will come to realise that there is no such thing as objectivity. The BBC is a publicly owned corporation, as such should we be surprised if their bias is to the left? The best that can be done is to hold them to account, call on them to recognise the nature of their subjectivity, and rejoice in the fact that we have a news organisation that at least aspires to objectivity unlike the ''fair and balanced'' Fox News or MSNBC in America.
  15. Just noticed how many ex-Norwich players the Addicks have on their books. Gary Doherty, Darel Russell, Rhoys Wiggins, Andy Hughes and Paul Hayes are all plying their trade at the Valley nowadays. Are there any other clubs with more former Canaries than Charlton? I seem to recall Leyton Orient had quite a few a little while ago...
  16. Crewe Alexandra- they play good football, and they bring through quality young talent. Well run (if unsuccessful) club all round.
  17. Having examined the tweets of Vaughan and Pilkington from the last few weeks it seems that the pair of them are getting along quite well. That being said there was mention that a few of the new boys had been spending time together, with Johnson and Bennett the others concerned. I thought that this brings up an interesting point regarding the integration of new players. Lambert has stated today that they are integrating well, but I wonder if they are likely to form cliques within the squad, and how that sort of thing might effect the play of the team as a whole, if at all. The four players mentioned are all around the same age, so its only natural for them to spend time with one another anyway, but its obviously important for them to integrate within the wider group as well. Thoughts anyone?
  18. When we signed Dean Ashton I was positively tumescent with excitement.
  19. "Press confrance" has the media come up with an elaborate scheme to defraud our froggy neighbours?
  20. Reading the pinkun article on dear Aaron reminded me that he actually plays for us! Does anyone really see much of a role for him next season? Could he be moved on in the summer?
  21. As expected this is a highly divisive issue, and my own suggestion appears to be very unpopular. Of everyone elses suggestions so far I''d have to go for T-Rex- 20th Century Boy. Like others have said, quite a few of the suggestions seem to be fairly widely used in English football, and I for one would much prefer to have a slightly different entrance song.
  22. As much as I appreciate condescending remarks, I have to ask, what are a few of these "million better choices"? Of course this is going to be a highly subjective issue though I thank you for your swift damnation of my own suggestion...
  23. First of all I must admit to not knowing the present entrance music as the players enter the field as I live abroad and am unable to get to games presently, but how would people feel about the introduction to Eye in the sky by the Alan Parsons Project as a potential entrance song? The Chicago Bulls basketball team of the late 90s which included Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan came on to this music and I think it creates a really intense atmosphere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMAGwMAXTpUWhat do you think?
  24. Bell was quality, just never fit. He got a great assist when we beat Forest away during the relegation season, can''t remember who scored though. He left for personal reasons- his family lived in the Midlands, or something along those lines and he was finding it hard being so far away, which is fair enough in my eyes. Shame though real quality crosser of the ball. Not sure on the Clingan issue, but if we were in such a dire financial position as McNally has recently stated then the high earners would have to come off the books. Personally I would have either of them back at Norwich- I think they are quality players who could be well used by Lambert.
  25. Quote from the BBC article: "Mackail-Smith''s form has been noticed far beyond London Road as well, with numerous clubs thought to be circling for a player who is out of contract at the end of the 2010-11 season."
