1.
--- lake district canary: I think its down to the players to be up to the job. We have been in this division for two seasons finishing 12th and 11th respectively, and just forked out £25million. So there can''t be too much wrong with the players.
Also I''d like to add either these players were recruited by Hughton, therefore should perform for him as he brought them here. Or they were here from 2 seasons ago, where under Lambert there skill and passing was substantially better? I''ve never been one to blame the manager, but either way, how do you spin this to stop the buck with anyone else?
 2.
Please tell me you''re not a yank.
Born in James Pageant Hospital, raised in Caister-on-sea. Was a season ticket holder 95-2006, and then moved abroad, and have lived all over. Hope this passes your test.
 3.
--- QHcanary: Ok, a better question. Open, attacking football and relegation? Or A balanced style and survival? A balanced style and survival please. Can someone please send Hughton the memo, so he can change his tactics to a balanced style.
Agreed CJF. I forgot to say at the moment it isn''t even half and half, its just too defensive and uncreative. I think i feel the need for us to attack and just attack in my mind to compensate for how we focus so much at trying to do nothing but let the other team have the ball, and then sit back and hope they won''t score. Balance is urgently required!
 4.
Ok, a better question. Open, attacking football and relegation? Or A balanced style and survival? Purely hypothetical question.
QH I really don''t want to dismiss your question but there is no way we could know that either open football, or balanced would yield those outcomes. I strongly believe there is a balance between the two, for a team of our standard. I''d love to say at times open attacking, and balanced at other times. I think yesterday open attacking when being a goal behind is the only option isn''t it? otherwise you lose anyway, and we sure saw that. We didn''t attack, and we lost. Do that all season and we will be relegated regardless. Against the bigger teams and more organised teams at 0-0 then fair enough balanced play and counter attacking is perfectly normal. But again how often is this the case? A better option I put to you is this. A) Open attacking football when we are down a goal, to possibly draw level and maybe even nick a win? B) Or consolidate a one goal loss, consolidate that 0-0 draw against a team of similar ability? And sit on it nervously wishing for the whistle while the other team constructs an onslaught toward our goal? It isn''t often black and white i know. But at 1-0 down surely you''ve nothing to lose and should show some passion? That''s all I ask. Otherwise whats the point in the fans and players turning up?
 5.

After what Holt said about the way we play upon his departure, I wouldn''t be surprised if all the players are just as frustrated. If/when Hughton moves on I guess we will see a lot more of what the players actually think about his style of set up. Whether they are for or against it, it shall be interesting to see.
You seem to be one of these people who are revelling in their own self made misery.Enjoy[Y]
Ah yes! Brilliant evaluation there buddy! I forgot my misery was created because I field the way the team plays and played for the last year...... oh no wait...... that''s the managers doing! How very astute of you to come to that conclusion! Imbecile.
Imbecile?Seriously who are you? I''ll tell you, just another tedious whiner who has showed up to glorify in 1 game lost. Yes, 1 game, you whiney pant wetter.I have never even noticed you post until today, where you have been doing nothing but tripping over your bottom lip.Take your Prozac and go lie down for a bit.
I''m not a Pant Wetter, and also I''m not taking shots at other posters as you and so many others seem to like to. I care not for your input or opinion now, I come on here every day, and have since 2003/4, to check transfer rumours and the goings on etc. I do not koin in most of the trivial conversations I see on here as a vast majority of the time they are childish and not football related. So when I feel passionately enough about something I post, and after games and games, and games of frustration I posted about it. No knee jerk posting because it was one bad day, no. The final straw for me was yesterday, and for a few others it seems too. I''m not weilding a pitch fork and screaming Hughton out, as I''ve said I quite like the mild mannered bloke, but he needs to buck his ideas up, or make way for someone else to show the boys how to play football again. I''m here to talk about the state of the football. Not you and I, so kindly go forth and part!
 6.
Some of you need to seriously chill out about yesterday. I can''t believe some of you are calling for Hughtons head two games into the season already. Yes we played awful yesterday, Yes Hughton got the tactics all wrong, but we are still only two games in, at least give Hughton about 8 games before we start really judging. Players need time to gel and I don''t want to hear all this shite about how that is what pre season is for, it is going to take more then 5 or 6 games to get to know one another. We picked up a well earned point against Everton, who have some decent players and were keeping possession nicely. I am neither in the Hughton in or out brigade, just please give the man a few more games before we start to call for his head. I know he doesn''t play attractive football etc but it is enough to get us the points and hopefully keep us in the division again. If performances carry on as they did for the Hull game then thats fair enough but so far we are two games in. Bring on Southampton and back the boys for all three points at FCR. OTBC!
Fair enough. I actually like Hughton as he comes across as a nice guy. You know whats hard to take is that, last season he did the same thing in the first game against Fulham, held his hands up and apologised for getting it wrong. You''d think a year later he''d have a better feel for things. Especially how to line his team up. Bruce only signed Livermore and Huddlestone what, 2 weeks ago? And they were a class apart and fitted right in to that Hull team. So yes I agree to extent pre season isn''t gonna have everything perfect, but equally it wasn''t even acceptable yesterday.
 7.
I can''t understand all this moaning about our Manager. He is a class act and produces exciting attacking football. We have two highly qualified and provenly successful coaches. Witness the slick one touch football particularly in the oppositions penalty area We look a really fit team with a commanding midfield. The players always look up for it as they did a couple of years ago. Fans, players and manager all going in the right direction. Holty was rightly slated for not scoring enough goals and indeed being lazy. None of that nonsense now. RVW looks really happy and so he should with the amount of chances he''s given. Pilks tweets positive messages and Nutty Nigel correctly defends all the moaners by asking quality questions. Marvellous
Are you being sarcastic? I genuinely can''t tell :P
 8.
Don''t forget Hughton''s Newcastle team scored loads of goals, can''t he play that way with us ?
Wasn''t it the same with his Brum side too? Problem is he has never really managed in the Premiership, those good seasons were had in the Championship, at a lower level. He had what, half a season with Newcastle in the Prem before he was axed?
 9. I forgot to say *gave our best, but just weren''t good enough* Which by the way, after the investment made we should be at least better than 3 teams. Cardiff gave it a go. We gave it a go against Man City and West Brom and that turned out to be our day. If you don''t attack how do you expect to win games?
 10.
"Why is it so hard for you people to get it? It''s not about win, lose or draw. Its about how we play, and the style and tactics applied on the field. I genuinely don''t mind if we lose a game to whoever so long as we give it 110% You and all the other supporters of the dross thats on display need to stop comparing Hughton to Laudrup. Swansea play the kind of football I''d love to see us play! Get a grip!" I''m not gonna put words in your mouth, so to be clear... If we played open, attacking football all season and got relegated, you wouldn''t mind?
I have to be completely honest so I shall. I''d be devastated if we were to get relegated in any sense. But if that was the case and it was down to giving it a go, I''d accept we gave our best. Now in yesterdays case, do you really REALLY believe had we have rallied in that 70 minute period the way we used to we wouldn''t have at least got a point against 10 men? Open attacking football, may get us relegated, but i gotta tell you bud, I''d be a damn sight happier knowing we bloody tried and failed rather than the whimpering way we are going down without a fight right now. 4 shots on target against 10 man Hull, in a whole game. 2 of which were pot shots outside the box. Football is meant to be entertaining, I genuinely watched a team scrape out wins by the odd goal last season. Haven''t seen "football" since May of last year.
 11.

Bit much considering they''ve played utd and spurs.
bit much considering we drew our first game against Everton.... some wont see it like that, they have taken it upon themselves to make it personal re hughton rather than football reasons i think
With just 2 shots on target for us, do you not think that we were not fortunate to draw? I think RVW was great, but in most cases it was a half chance. We created little else, and nothing more for him. He''s had 2 chances in 2 games. You are happy with this? Do you enjoy watching it? I don''t like to see us spend 8.5m on a striker to give him one chance a game and hope he takes it. So again 6 shots on target in 2 games, yes we drew our first game, and we were very fortunate to do so.
 12.
--- Gingerpele: His most common pass yesterday was to Redmond, which is great as he can run on and do what he wants. It''s like when people used to moan about Robinson and Fozzy passing sideways, I''d always say, well isn''t Hucks on one of those sides? But a lot is in how you pass it sideways, rolling the ball to Redmond on the halfway line is not going to create anything. Whereas a better passer will roll it into the space in front of the player. The lack of a decent passer in midfield is one reason our attacking play is so static and slow. A good passer sees the pass before he has the ball, and can play the key pass the moment the ball arrives. Our players dally on the ball before putting it 10 yards sideways.
Does anyone else get annoyed at how sometimes we play it into feet (normally a great thing) when in actual fact it should be played into the space and path the player is running into? There have been so many times a counter attack has crumbled because we hit it at the player so he has to stop his run and wait for the ball to then carry on. Very frustrating, as this surely is a basic thing.

 15.

and there isn''t so much to split them so a fair rotation could work.
There is a lot between them. I would prefer not to rotate defenders just to give people a chance. Turner and Bassong are our best defenders and the more they play together the stronger that partnership becomes.
As much as I''d rather we start to see Bennett play to return the sum we paid for him. I have to agree that the centre of defence is the one part of a team that shouldn''t be messed with, and rotated. Shame for the lad though because we need him as cover right now as he really isnt the same standard as Turner and Bassong, but he really would benefit from going out on loan.
 16.
CUSDPIt''s more to do with the fact they one one of their last ten last season, making it one win in 12 for them nowhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_Swansea_City_A.F.C._season Amazing how reality and perception are different. Laudrup is no bloody worse then Hughton, yet some city fans would dump Hughton for him in a heartbeat.
Why is it so hard for you people to get it? It''s not about win, lose or draw. 17.
Swansea fans calling for Laudrup''s head.Glad we aren''t the only club who have silly fans.
So Swansea have 5 shots on target against 11 man Spurs - a top team We have 4 shots on target against lowly Hull with 10 men, who only mustered just one shot on target which was there penalty!! Explain how we were unlucky? It''s not like they were better than us. We were poor, thats down to preparation and organisation and starts with getting your own house in order! Yeah i guess its really the same. I don''t know how they played but I''m sure if its anything like their results in Europe they will have at least tried to give it a go! People need to get a grip and not defend the tripe yesterday!

Every argument seems to end up with one side denying or suggesting one is irrelevant while championing the other" Fair enough Monty, at the end of the day you cannot argue with the facts. I think my overall feeling is I just want us to try, that is all. I do not hate Hughton, I was mad today. I just want him to give something else a go now, as your "B" point suggests his current approach is delivering a great return is it!
 19.
Everton for the drop? Never mind the fact that you clearly wouldn''t know a paragraph if it rogered you sternly- that in itself null and voids your opinion. Where have I made it look like Hughton ''part''s (sic) seas''? Go on, this should be worth a laugh
Another one to add to the list of people perfectly happy to watch dross. Best of luck with enjoying cr@p football. While you sit and do the battery powered monkey cymbal motion clap, the rest of us will now to start to voice our concerns on the steady decline in quality and lack of positive attitude that is now applied within our team on match days. I don''t worry after today because now I see there are 3 groups of people. The ones that are happy to watch this sh!te. The ones who want Hughton to wake up and start to entertain all those fans that contribute money to the club, and want to see football played again properly so it can be enjoyed. Then theres those that just want to fire him. I am in the second category, I want him to sort it, I know now after 40 league games this is unlikely, and he may force our hand in having to ultimately replace him. I''d rather he has somewhat of an epiphany and suddenly shakes everything up. But knowing him, he''s mild mannered all over. too much so, and maybe we need someone to take us forward with the genuinly great signings that are now at our club! Its as simple as that for me. This is no knee jerk reaction. I want him to wake up and let us see some real football again!
 20.
Yes we did finish 11th but wake up and smell the coffee, we were favourites to get relegated with two games left and were only spared by a fluke result against a Man City team with nothing to play for. People bang on about it as if Hughton comfortably took us to mid-table. Had Wigan not endured a successful FA Cup run it could''ve been us back in the Championship.
You''re so right. And after all my frustration today I do not dislike Hughton. I simply wish he''d just get a clue, and buck his ideas up. I just want us to play positive trying-to-win football. If he can''t deliver that then I''d rather someone else who wants to, as it isn''t entertaining watching 4 shots on goal, its sad and depressing. Win, Lose or draw, we need the era or giving it a bloody go to return. I miss it sorely!
 21.
But didn''t we finish above Southampton?
Adkins sacked January 18th: Norwich 13th on 26 pts Saints 15th on 22 pts Season finish: Norwich 11th on 44 pts Saints 14th on 41 pts So had we not have beaten Man City they would have finished above us. And we finished just 5 points off 17th, we had a deceivingly good end to an almost disastrous season. Where they are growing and improving I feel we are going backwards, trying to nick games 1-0 or by the odd goal. Is this really the kind of way you want to see our team play having 4 or 5 shots at goal a game?
 22.
Seattle, you are being a bit foolish: we lost, extremely unluckily today, 1-0, away to a PL side. That is rather a long way from being stuffed 7-1 at home and being totally clueless in the process. Fact is, we are missing more players than you say, and have not been able to play our first XI: Snod wasn''t fit for the full 90, Olsson for me should be lb but isn''t yet fully fit, Bassong is the main miss (yet not mentioned by you): we rely on him rather too much for my liking and clearly need another cb. All I''m saying is to give them a chance and leave the knee-jerk reaction to, well, jerks.
I fully understand where you are coming from. But my point wasn''t by how much we lost, or by whom we lost to. The opposition is almost irrelevant. We literally couldn''t have beaten a team made up of 11 monkeys today, we lacked the self motivation and necessary skill to get the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. Therefore my argument lies with the approach, and not the personal wearing the shirt, because as many have said they are all great on paper, and we each respectively stars at the clubs we took them from, if they were flops we would not have bought them. Therefore when the basics are lacking and organisation is all over the shop, how much say do you think they have? Do you really think Howson wants to play right midfield? He may not mind as far as I know, but it doesn''t mean he is effective there, same as a few others were ineffective. We used to be a great team full of attacking intent. This doesn''t just die over night. Also as a side note. I mentioned 3 key players were missing, and assessed Pilks as only turning up half the time, Hooper is unknown as I said, does Bassong really need pointing out Branston? It''s obvious he is the 3rd and a more than consistent performer!
 23.
user="i''m spartacus"]or lets do a mcnally when it dawned on him how clueless gunn was
Hallelujah yes!! Someone has a good memory!
 24.
Yeah, It''s a brilliant idea - let''s back the manager with £25m + with more to possibly come, and then sack him after one reverse - which came with a huge slice of crap reffing as per usual. You have to give things a chance to bed down - I mean, we still haven''t been able to put our first choice XI out yet.
Bryan Gunn spent our rebate money on Holt and other players at the worst financial point in recent memory and was fired after an awful display. How did that turn out? Oh yeah, pretty good. Bad management is like a cancer, you need to catch it early on before it affects the players mental state and confidence. We are missing only 3 key players, one of whom in Pilks only turns up sometimes. Hooper is an unknown, so what do you think will be different about having those players back? Everyone looks the same when we are negatively defensive. What do you think will honestly change?
