1.
HaB, apart from "people who have time on their hands post in forums", is there anything else you''d like to add ? Is that the sum total of all you have learned from wasting your own time lurking ?
No, I don''t think so. I was just musing as I munched my lunchtime sandwich that the majority of posters on here, i.e the same old suspects, seem to spend an inordinate amount of the time on this MB. Sadly, I have now offended all of you albeit unintentionally but most of you seem to infer slight or offence or whatever where none is intended in the first place and I can''t do much about that.
 2.

Looks like I touched a raw nerve with you Marty. I did say "Most of you" so my observations were evidently not intended for all of you although I see you have posted 1,538 messages which tends to suggest that, IMO, you spend a surprising amount of time glued to this message board. You mention my 145 posts but you omit to mention that these have been made over two years plus and therefore represent a mere one post per week on my part.
over 4 years, not that much really, especially if the average time spent posting takes the same as this one (ca. 20 seconds). Not a raw nerve, merely a huge assumption I think.
Nope, raw nerve methinks .......... as with most of you who replied. Typical of most of you who lurk on this MB, you all pile in with your thoughtless reactions and opinions. Time and time again I have read a constructive new thread and then been dismayed to see all the silly responses. Why don''t you people (most of you that is but not all !) read peoples'' posts properly and reply to what people say rather than what you mistakenly think they have said ? Oh well, that''s my lot for another 6.367 days.

 4. ..............  I get the impression most of you have nothing better to do than spend all day on here which I find a little sad. Don''t you have jobs to do, hobbies, allotments or are you too old and too tired to bother ?
 5.
This has to be a candidate for the dumbest thread of the year award. Sorry, but it is.
That''s rich coming from you. Self-evidently, I happen to think my thread raises interesting questions and the fact that you disagree doesn''t bother me at all although I am surprised at your unjustified rudeness  especially your use of the word "dumbest" as an insult. Anyway, that''s your problem not mine but I am disappointed that the moderators deemed your nastiness as being acceptable. Anyway, yto finish off : I have more respect for a manager who succeeds with scant resources both in terms of cash and people/expertise around him than the “successful” managers with almost unlimited cash to spend and droves of people backing them up. It’s all about relativity. Where was Arsenal when Wenger joined, how many seasons has he been at Arsenal, list out what he has achieved during his time there and actually shouldn’t he have done better when all said and done ? Anyway, I shall now retreat from this thread, saddened by the unwarranted unpleasantness of most of the responses, particularly yours. I guess this message board is a mirror image of life today in general. Rudeness and bad manners encountered at almost every interval of the day. Most of the posters on here remind me of car drivers with their hands hovering over the hooter ready to blast their horns at the slightest and mildest of provocations.
 6. chinese we8wba and most of the rest of you :-   Oh do read the question before answering pleeeeeeeeeeeeease :   "Well, my question is this - could Wenger have done the job that Roeder has so far done for Norwich or would he have been completely out of his depth".
 7. "Pointless post", calling me a no brainer ........ the usual drivel and moronic reactions on here to a thoughtful and deliberately provocative post. What''s the measure of a truly talented manager ? Someone who joins a club which is already in the top two or three in the land and is given almost unlimited riches to buy the best players, a scouting infrastructure which was and is now one of the biggest in the world, a genuinely huge fan base and time to make a mark .............. or someone who joins a club like Norwich rooted to the bottom of the Championship, no  money to spend, hardly any scouting infrastructure (but who would want to come to the club anyway ?), a decent if not large fan base, takes a group of non-perfoming players, borrows some from elsewhere on the knock and transforms the club from no hopers to one which has genuine if not totally realistic hopes of getting to the play-offs in a matter of a few months. Could Wenger have done that, would he have deigned to even cosider such an "opportunity"  ? I don'' t think so.
 8. Some of you were praising Arsenal and Wenger to the rafters yesterday which then led to a discussion as to whether or not Wenger was a great manager or just inevitably successful because he is backed up by loadsamoney. Well, my question is this - could Wenger have done the job that Roeder has so far done for Norwich or would he have been completely out of his depth. I know what I think but I would be interested to know your opinions ?
 9.

Errrrrrrrrrr.............. nope, read it right the first time. However, it was wrong of me to be so insulting.
so u think DDD is having a go at Rodeo then? jas :)
No JAS, I knew exactly what DDD was doing and I think I said in one of my posts that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and facetiousness is its brother. All of us knew what DD was doing in his thread, some of you thought it was funny (basically, the Roeder is God, how dare anyone say anything negative about him brigade) and some of us thought it was perhaps a little bit pathetic i.e. those of who have dared to point up a few of GR''s faults whilst at the same time being careful to say that we also think he has done a very good job for us ...... so far.
 10. quote user=FatboySlimfastLol!!! Funniest thread in ages. Some clearly didn''t get it, others did, some thought they understood then changed their mind, some thought they understood and still think they understand when clearly they don''t, others are on a wind up laughing their heads off at the people who didn''t get it and some are just plainly confused![/   No mate, we ALL got is first time, some of you with limited intellect thought it was hilarious whilst those of us with a decent IQ treated it for what is was and smiled indulgently.
 11.
Couldn''t you have added this to the existing Nugent thread further down the page?
Blimey, City Angel, you''re so bossy. You remind me of of my wife...... but I like you.
 12.

Yeah, afraid to say Delia''s Devonshire Dirtbox but you really are a bit of a pratt.
theres only 1 Prat in this thread and im afraid its you mate... read what DDD said agin.. a bit more carefuly this time. jas :)
Errrrrrrrrrr.............. nope, read it right the first time. However, it was wrong of me to be so insulting.
 13.

You are kidding me ! Even the commentator said something like "Great passing by Arsenal...... lovely to be able to say that of an English club ........albeit an English club without any English players." Sorry, call me a xenophobe as no doubt some of you will but in any case I can''t identify with a club which is mega rich, buys some of the best players in the world (which is why I grant you they are so good), is managed by IMO an arrogant, sulking individual and is captained by one of the poorest role models for our kids I have ever seen.
I was of the oppinion that Wenger had performed wonders and never really spent the money Man United, CHelsea and Liverpool have forked out in the transfer market? I am not sure how accurate this is but it gives a good idea of what he has managed http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=piruthZqw9z7KPOQuZ0P6Gg
The fact that Wenger has made profits on his transfers isn''t the point is it ? The point is that he has access to countless millions with which to buy the best players so no surprise that he has an excellent team. How much did young Walcott cost, a player unproven at the highest level - £11,000,000 wasn''t it ? Must be great to have a punt on a young prospect and be able to pay that sort of money. You could buy Norfolk with £11M. How long has he been at Arsenal now ? How many young British players has Wenger spotted and brought through from youth level to 1st team. If you''ve got millions to spend it isn''t that hard to identify and locate the best players around the world especially when you have a full time international scouting team. If I had a million to spend I would go down to my local Mercedes showroom, identify a top of the range car and buy it without a second thought but I don''t so when it''s time to buy a car I have to plough through autotrader etc and hopefully have the nous to spot a car at the right price which will give me a few years faithful and reliable service. Not the best analogy I know but not too far off.   Cant believe that any other Top 4 prem team has made a profit on transfers as many times as Wenger has. Also nice to see Brian McGovern mentioned [:|]

Yes, funnily enough I noticed that the only English player in the Arsenal match squad came off the subs bench and made an assist and, yes, Theo Walcott will become a very good player. How much did the Professor of Sulk pay for him when he bought him from Southampton ?
 15. Anybody here not a Cureton fan ? OK, that''s a wrap then. I continued to follow his career at the Pirates and his partnership with Jason Roberts was formidable. All we need is a strike partner for Cureton such as JR or Iwelumo and he would fly again although he''s starting to do a pretty good job now. Wasn''t his strike partner at Norwich first time around Akinbiyi ? I remember they both scored goals for fun.
 16.
yeah - while watching live prem footy in squares a while back pre-match, the gooners went ahead in the last 5 mins - what a huge cheer from the massed ranks - no arsenal shirts in sight!!! still if your small provincial team is bumping along in the champs - you need to have a second team to support in the prem to get a glam fix?  any posters on here admit to arsenal being their 2nd team???
You are kidding me ! Even the commentator said something like "Great passing by Arsenal...... lovely to be able to say that of an English club ........albeit an English club without any English players." 17.
Delia''s Devonshire Dirtbox'' wrote How dare he bring Cureton on and have three strikers on the feild at the same time, How dare he get us an away point at a top of the table club, how dare he ring the changes from the last game and change them, how dare he give the players a wake up call at halftime, how dare he not let me hex the team, how dare he take us ten points from the drop zone. He will jump ship at the nearest chance, he is going to send us into another worthy situaion, he picks loan players to please the lending club. WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS, TAKING US FROM A RELEGATION CERT TO A MID TABLE TEAM I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT!   Egg on your faces[;)]   As most of us City fans still back GR, and still back Jamie lad too, the only egg I can see is on your face matey.[:|]
Yeah, afraid to say Delia''s Devonshire Dirtbox but you really are a bit of a pratt.
 18.
I don''t see the point of the virtiol against Adams but as for this thread it is as tongue in cheek as was Roeder''s comment to the supporters.
How do you know where his tongue was then ?!  I have to say that having seen Roeder interviewed on a number of occasions over the years and listened to his utterances I suspect that the title to this thread is entirely apposite............. and of course I am very grateful to GR for saving our club but as Citizen (I think) said time will tell whether or not GR is more than an impact manager. Personally, I believe he will maximise on his short term achievement here and use it as a platform to get back into the premiership during the summer.
 19. Wings, what was so unreasonable about 1st Wiz''s post. I reproduce it below, please tell me what it was that 1st Wiz said that provoked your and others'' outbursts - We can still get relegated – yes, this remains a distinct possibility Especially if Glen persists with Gibbs in the team and Mo left out of it. These new young loanees have encouraged GR to ''tinker'' with our line up far too much imo. – no problem with that comment especially as it leads into the next and very salient point ………… And why did we buy, yes buy, Matty P, if some lighweight Arsenal kiddie is preferred to him?.   In my opinion, if Gibbs is played at Watford tomorrow night, then its get your abbicus out time. With their route one, high ball game, they could well hammer us!. – don’t know about this nor Wiz’s spelling of abacus but nothing silly or unwarranted here Look at the league table, and then tell me on here where the next 7 points (we have 45 now) are going to come from.............. fair point, Wings where are they going to come from ? We’re into March now and the clock is beginning to tick Now tell me we can''t get relegated!. Fair conclusion and, no, I don’t know Wiz and there’s often posts of his that I don’t agree with
 20. quote user - And he''s the smallest man on the pitch - Some good points, but isn''t there a law stating that no criticism of Roeder is allowed and that any breach is punishable by mindless and moronic abuse ?   I wasn''t wrong then !
 21. I have to say that I am still keeping a spair pare of clean underpants available. We are equidistant from the drop and play off zones (especially with Sheff Weds games in hand) and right now I think we are more likely to slide further down the table. So we are not safe yet.
 22. Some good points, but isn''t there a law stating that no criticim of Roeder is allowed and that any breach is punishable by mindless and moronic abuse ?
 23. West Ham v Millwall.   hahahahahaha   You have got to be kidding. Not only that but rust fans only turn up in numbers when you''re doing well.
 24.
1st Wizard you and your ilk look for any excuse to have a right good whinge when we get the wrong result. Perhaps if the team had not gone to Spain then maybe the result may have been much worse? I bet when you heard they had gone to Spain that you desperately hoped for a defeat today so that you could up your post count and score brownie points with the rest of Moan Utd. ?
Here we go again. Someone posts a constructive and IMO very well founded point and the Roedents rush out with cries of "whinger" "moaner" and so on. It''s not whinging but thoughtful observation but of course "He who must be obeyed" must never be criticised. We all know what a great job he has done, so far, for our club but that does not, repeat not, make him immune from the odd piece of constructive criticism.
