  1. Its not that Roy Waller is bad as such, its just this is what seems to happen most weeks. "Here come Norwich...Drury..to Huckerby....HUCKERBY!!....STILL WITH HUCKERBY....HE''S THROUGH.....JUST THE KEEPER TO BEAT!!!........HE SHOOTS!!......YESSSS!!!.....ITS IN!!.......NO ITS NOT.......YES IT IS.......NO ITS OFFSIDE/OVER THE BAR/SIDE NETTING....................Neil..." I bet if you telephoned the University Hospital, they would say that the heart attack rate goes up between 3.00pm and 4.45pm every Saturday. Just for the record, during the recent 4-4 at Rotherham, I was pronounced clinically dead 74 times during the game. Luckily I am a Season Ticket holder so only listen to radio for away games. Who''s the other guy that does the commentry when Roy can''t get there? He doesn''t seem to give me such a heart attack!
  2. There is a golden rule with this game I have found. Don''t choose the players in the positions as they are in real life. Try Easton as a leftback etc. Use Elvis up front. I tend to find that if I pick a 4-4-2 using the team that plays in real life - they play like they have TXU Energy on their shirts..... Good luck! Also, can everyone say how they get on when they play the scum? We think that the game is fixed so that you never lose to Ipswich. Anyone lost to them yet?
  3. What about: Borrow, borrow, borrow Borrow the Crouch from Villo When he''s in Yellow & Green Then we''re the best that you''ve seen THEN its off to the Premier we go!
  4. I''d like to just add my thoughts with regards to us playing at home and away. I don''t think that it is any coincidence that we have not been playing so well at home since we went top. I don''t think its down to us suddenly being bad but since we went top it is clear that the opposition arrive at Carrow Road with the thought that a draw is a good result! For the first part of the season, teams seemed to be letting us play and that was their downfall! Now we aren''t being allowed to play and we are not yet sure then what to do. Norwich always play better when the other team play football. Bradford was a great example. 11 men behind the ball wherever possible. They worked hard and never gave us any time or space. Norwich have trouble breaking this down and that will always now be our problem at home I feel. I think that our home form from now on may well be determined by how quickly we can get that first goal. If we go one up then the other team have to come out and we can then go on and win the game. If we stay 0-0 for a longer period, then we start to feel pressured to score and the opposition gain confidence. Away from home and it is the home team that have to come out which is why perhaps we are playing better. Our best form of defence is attack. I can understand the teams at the lower end coming to Carrow Road just happy with a draw but it will be interesting to see how the likes of WBA, Sheffield Utd, Ipswich etc play at Carrow Road. I.E. I guess they will want 3 points. These games may well be our better chances of getting the points then the....dare I say it.....Bradfords and Watfords of this world (no disrespect) What do others think?
  5. Anyone know why they have moved the Division One Play Off final to the Saturday (29 May)this year and the Div 2 one is now on Sunday and the Div 3 final on Bank Holiday Monday. That seems daft! I hope no one has booked a holiday getting back on the Saturday thinking they will be OK!! Heaven forbid of course if we ONLY get to the Play Off Final !
  6. Good question that! Well, Duncan Forbes scored 12 from 350 appearences, Dave Stringer scored 22 from 497, Mark Bowen scored 27 from 394 and Malky.....not as many as 27 I am sure! So Mark Bowen leads so far. Of course, Chris Sutton started as a centre back and scored 43 goals! Does that count??!! Anyone else with any ideas?
  7. I hear what you are saying and you all make good points but you don''t mess around with the best defence in the league. If we start going down hill defensively (heaven forbid!) then look to change it, but right now, if it ain''t broken don''t fix it.
  8. I have to agree that it needs to be horses for courses and also there is absolutely no chance that we will be able to play the same 11 faces week in and week out. With regards to the strikers, I don''t think they need to be rotated or the like. We just need to play the two who are on form. If that is McKenzie and Hucks then great, if that is Hucks and Svennson then so be it. A striker plays on confidence and also plays well when there is competition. I also can''t see any reason why we shouldn''t chuck Roberts in every so often. His experience and hold up play may be an important factor in a particular game. (Though tell him not to tackle in his own box!!!). He scored a good ''valid'' goal at Everton and linked well with Hucks v Cardiff. Midfield is a different area. I would have to say that Mulryne would be in my team but like Ian Crook, you can see the games that are made for a play maker and the ones that are not. If its not working then Francis can soon come on and vice versa. Remember Walsall away? Mulryne on at half time and we run out winners. Remember Derby at home? 1-0 down, 10 men on the field. Mulryne sets up the first and scores the winner. Other times Mulryne has no time on the ball at all and then its time to change it. He is also the dead ball specialist as well. Leave him out at our peril. When the team plays well, its usually because Mulryne is playing well. The defence again will pick itself I am sure. So my first choice 11 at the moment?.... Robert Green Adam Drury Craig Fleming Malky McKay Mark Edworthy Jim Brennan Gary Holt Phil Mulryne Paul McVeigh Darren Huckerby Leon McKenzie Subs. Crighton, Svennson, Rivers, Francis
  9. I''ve just worked it all out and we have fallen for this big time! We must be real mugs! Read on, but remember in the back of your mind, it is Christmas - pantomime season... Once upon a time, there was a man we shall call Nigel. He had an average life doing his job from day to day. Suddenly he stumpled across this lamp. He gave it a little rub and out popped this golden ray of light. The ray of light formed into a person. A person with pace, flair and he offered his services to Nigel saying that he was his servant. 3 months passed and the ''genius'', I mean genie, served Nigel well until a nasty wicked man came onto the scene. His name was Agent-naza, I mean Abanaza. He wanted the genie to himself to make him money and did everything he could to steal the genie from Nigel. We all know that in Ipswich, I mean fairy stories, good always wins over evil so let''s hope the real story finishes with ''happily ever after''. The genie is staying with Nigel? "OH NO HE ISN''T!" "OH YES HE IS" "OH NO HE ISN''T" (repeat several times). Lets hope HUCKS signs with the canaries and come the new year we can tell Nigel that you can now put it all "BEHIND YOU"!
  10. On the one hand I am shocked by this new development and on the other hand I am not surprised. If this is true, then Hucks Agent will certainly not be Hucks Agent for long, I am sure. I wish that it would be confirmed on the official site or on pinkun news then we will know for sure what is happening.
  11. I disagree mate - sorry. Firstly, Hucks isn''t lazy and secondly, he would always get first team football. He would play up front with Leon. The only person happy about this decision is Robbo (perhaps not so much) and Svennson. Yes, we do have the squad, but it would have been a better squad. Its all such a shame.
  12. I am so incensed by it all that I have felt the need to post again! You ask any professional footballer. What would you prefer. 1) Earning loads of money and sitting on a bench or worse in the stand! or 2) Playing every week for a team top of Division one, who if uninjured you will play for every game, be adored by thousands, be respected by thousands, in an area of the country you love but not earn so much. I can''t believe that it would be choice one. They choose the profession of being a footballer because they love to PLAY! Hucks ain''t stupid. He knows that Norwich with Hucks have to be favourites for promotion with the squad we would have. In a year, he could have his wish and play in the Premiership. In a year (from what I saw of Man City last night) he could be on the bench or in the stand of a Div 1 team. I just can''t understand it all. It makes no sense. It HAS to be that stupid Agent! Anyway, I am off to cool down!
  13. If Hucks ain''t coming, he ain''t coming, but at the very least I think we should have an explanation. He owes us that after everything he said "That''s the annoying thing - its not me" he said. "I would be back tomorrow if I could" he said. I am so sure that his Agent is behind all this. Come on Hucks, sack your Agent and join us! He has caused you nothing but aggro mate! Leave him in Saddam''s hole and sign. You may just live to regret it otherwise.......
