I think a look over his twitter feed says otherwise. This is a pretty good example. Words like "considering a bid" do a lot of heavy lifting. If no bid ends up happening, well that's not dud information, it's the club having decided against the bid. Here's another really good one... "Understand", "set to submit" "negotiations to enter crucial stage". I follow him on twitter because he is extremely well connected and knows his stuff - but he does his fair share of speculation and uses language in a way which gives him particularly plausible deniability.

They'll be disappointed as the Pink Un have said we don't hold an interest.
