1. Sadly, I believe we will have worse news to come following Lambert''s departure. Never mind Holt I believe the first person he will return for will be Howson, closely followed by Bennett (Elliott) & Pilkington + possibly Ruddy! Never mind a fortunate inheritance as suggested by Rick Waghorn - see below*, any new Manager is going to have a huge rebuilding job to do, let''s be realistic.*"As has been said before, the Class of 2012-13 are already pretty much assembled courtesy of Lambert’s shrewdness in the English transfer market; whoever inherits the Canary hot-seat as he disappears up the A14 to Villa Park, will start from an enviable base in terms of young, hungry players still yet to hit their Premier League prime."There will be a desire from these individuals to reacquaint themselves with Lambert and like him there will be little we can do to stand in their way!Again we can only hold our breath!
2. Can''t believe the clamour for Malky as new Manager. Whilst we all respect him as a ''good guy'' and excellent servant to our Club who left far to early, successful/ respected Managers have discipline as a key part of their make up.Remember the way Cardiff players threw promotion away when we went up and the failure to cross the line this year. Add to this lack of experience and MM really is not the man and nostalgia is no way to select any replacement if indeed it proves to be required!
3. What a credit Brendan Rodgers is to himself and his Club, preferring to stay and build with Swansea than the immediate ''excitement'' of talking to Liverpool.Let''s hope that Paul Lambert follows this example and the example of his so called mentor, Martin O''Neill (The Gaffer) who turned downed endless lucrative offers before eventually being prised away from Wycombe Wanderers! You still have much to prove Mr Lambert before you can be confirmed as a top Premiership Manager, stick in there for at least another season and demonstrate again your worth at this level before inevitably moving on to the next level!
4. Vaughan not in the squad again today, for Godsake tell me that he''s not injured again!
5. Quote from Arsenal Official site today:The visitors had been a credit to the Premier League all season and, on the balance of play, they were worth their equaliser. So very true! OTBC
6. Is PL laying the ground for his exit by talk of the limitations for NCFC''s future?
7. All the talk last week was that Brendan Rodgers was a leading candidate when/and if Harry moved (as expected) and widely forecast to the England job at the end of the season.I just hope that we did not do too good a job yesterday (much like Colchester did on us) and we have placed our fantastic Manager in the shop window, whetting their Directors appetite. As we know he has everything man manager/excellent recruitment record/young and although he has not managed in Europe he ''knows the scene''.We can only hold our breathe and pray!
8.
i still think your an ipswich fan no matter who you say you saw in a norwich shirt. a norwich fan would never mention getting rid of a manager when we are 8th in the premier league. either that or you were drunk at the time
You misunderstand Marks, my comments were meant to highlight the ridiculous situation of dismissing a good young Manager like Lee Clark and likening it to considering a similar fete for our excellent Manager should the tide temporarily turn. Owners/Boards of Football Clubs and regretfully some supporters sadly have short memories and the win and all costs demands are unrealistic. Paul Lambert (and David McNally) are the best thing that has happened to this Club for many years and long may it continue!
9.
this guy must be a ipswich fan trying to stir up trouble.
My first match following Norwich was against Sunderland on 16/9/1961 - we won 3-1 - Brian Clough led their attack (Barry Butler (you may not have heard of him) did not give him a kick! What those years have taught me is to be realistic, not to get too carried away with success or too down in defeat much the same as Paul Lambert preaches and one of the reasons he has the potential to be such a fine Manager.Like many others on here Marks/Wizard you have made a knee jerk reaction/judgement and like them you are of course incorrect!
10. Have you read some of the comments on here? Just to repeat some of these plonkers will be screaming for Lambert''s head if Saturdays result is followed by another couple of defeats!I cannot believe some of the comments re qualification for Europe, please know our place, a team that prior to Saturday was punching well above it''s weight and success this year remains avoiding relegation. Only the deluded believe that we are a genuine ''top half'' outfit at this stage and next year will be substantially more difficult!
11. Fickle lot football supporters/FC Chairman - very short memories when it suits them. Past counts for nothing!
12. Bearing in mind the Lee Clark situation will Paul Lambert and his boys need to ''watch their backs'' if we suffer a heavy reverse against the Red Devils a week on Saturday?
13. Reminds me a bit of Johnny Giles! Here''s hoping that he is at least half as good!
14. Neil Warnock will without doubt be the next Manager. At NOTTINGHAM FOREST.
15. You might just as well argue that he likes signing injured players eg Vaughan, Pilkington, Morisson and now Howson!
16. I wonder whether there ever were targets ''to give the lads a hand'' or was this just another of Paul''s little tricks to keep the lads giving it their all?Whether or not this was the case it certainly worked - be interesting to see what happens once the Jan window closes, I''m sure he will have planned for that as well!
17. Find it a little difficult to believe the ''shock/horror'' expressed by those at the helm of our Club, at what premier league footballers ask in wages.Don''t lets be fooled here,  the people now running NCFC are some of the most competent/shrewdest around and would not have entered the January window without doing their research/being well aware of the ballpark figure likely to be asked. As I said previously we must not leave this superb Manager thinking he has taken us as far as he can with the ''limited'' resources available. Let us hope that the result of the delay in acquiring the services of Dean Ashton a few years ago, is fresh in the memory when a little more commitment may well have reaped rewards!
18. They do think that way ''Purplecanary'', they are not all like the current breed!Until 10 years ago I was a Bank Manager (whisper it quietly though!)
19. All the points you make Salopian are of course correct and valid. As you rightly say ''to date we have done well'' in the Premiership. However recent successful results have hidden the fact that in the same matches we have come under sustained pressure even against opposition that are not regarded as being in the mini ''superleague''. Lady luck has (not before time) smiled on us a bit and I think it is for that reason that Mr Lambert feels the team ''needs a hand''. It also, of course, would keep the current squad (who have performed magnificently) on their toes. Notwithstanding our current position it would only take a poor run to drag us down into ''the dreaded depths''. As we know the present opportunity will (most likely) not repeat itself for many years and will only continue whilst we have the present Manager at the helm. When the dreaded day comes that we have to part company his decision will no doubt revolve to a large degree on whether he feels he has gone as far as our Club''s resources will allow him and our present approach might well convince him that he has!I''m afraid that life in the Premiership is very much about risk and few teams (outside Stoke) sustains that status without taking them!
20. Do n''t think so Crabby. Surely our creditors must never have been more confident. The key to all of this is to convince this excellent Manager that we share his ambitions, Without him I''m afraid the future will again be bleak! With the potential to stay in this land of milk and honey looking good for another season and knowing how difficult it is to achieve this such an opportunity may not return for a very long time. We should grab it while it''s there! The enthusiasm to recruit a ''sugar daddy'' seems to have waned a little probably because everybody now wishes to stay on board. If the income from Premier League status is still not enough for us to recruit (and pay wages -going rate), sadly this would seem to be the only answer - we will never again be a more attractive proposition!
21. It is without doubt that the achievement we have seen over the past three years by our team, under this superb Manager has been without precedent at our Club and the support and trust placed in the Manager by the board has been admirable. Whilst none of us, of course, wish to see the Club return to the ''dark days'' financially by overpaying ridiculous wages I am a little confused by recent comments that achieving the seven year plan early has caused a problem. In the past we have always been led to believe that the only place to be ''financially'' was the honey pot otherwise known as the Premiership and that life in the Championship would always be ''loss making''. Consequently there would not be a situation where spending a few years in the Championship would enable the Club to build a ''War Chest'' of funds to allow further outlay (on wages) when the halcyon days of Premiership football eventually arrived on cue (ie year seven!). Could somebody please explain?
22. We are now about to face the defining moment in the future of our Club. It has been as good a start as we could reasonable expect in the Premier League created by the confidence from two fantastic years, the ''newness'' of life in this division and a first class motivator/recruiter who has bought this totally honest/hard working group of players together. We now face the hard part. So far we have even been able to take confidence from defeat in that we have put in competitive performances against the bigger Clubs where we have come out with credit. This was not the case on Saturday where we were clearly outclassed although we will not be alone and there was no shame in that. Mistakes were very much in evidence and this clearly could have led to a more embarrassing defeat. Worryingly we do not seem to be learning from earlier defensive mistakes. The key to the future (in my opinion) depends upon:The ability to ride the storm now that the freshness has worn off during this traditionally ''difficult'' part of the season.Whether we are able to recover from this ''dose of reality'' with our confidence intact.Paul Lambert (who has worked miracles so far) confirming his status as a top class Manager by remotivating his squad AND (most importantly of all recruiting successfully in the January window.I think the next four weeks will give a good indicator of our medium term future.
23. Agree ''Crabby'' and he won''t of course - but it''s yesterday''s article by the ''authors'' of this site who are the offenders under the heading: "Why Lambert owes debt to Norwich City fans" We should count our blessings daily that he is still here not require acknowledgement in the other direction. Believe you me this joyful period will only last during his tenure!
