2.

Hopefully we wouldn''t have to spend more than 1 pound on a player the "quality" of Hooper, as he''s proven he''s utter shite even at Champ level. I mean amazingly great strikers like Chris Wood, Tomer Hemed, and Jonathan Kodjia have scored more goals than he has. It''s not hard to find far better than Hooper, champ.
And yet Hooper scored more goals per min played in the Championship. And yet Hooper scored more goals than Mbokani, in what was a defensive team, compared to the attacking line up this season.
Too bad 2 of Hoopers goals were PKs and 1 of them was a fluke deflection that had no shot at being a goal. Whereas Mbokani has scored 5 goals from play in far less starts or appearances, champ. Please try again, it''s hilarious.
Hooper can''t even score as many goals as the amazing Lewis Grabban in the Championship.

 4.
Enough said
Please for the love of "God" don''t be a lie...
 5.
Hooper has scored 13 goals in 1384 minutes of football for Wednesday this season. Hemed has 17 goals in 3126 minutes. Kodjia has 19 goals in 3143 minutes and Wood has scored 12 in 2793 minutes so don''t let the facts get in the way of your very limited knowledge of football.
You probably shouldn''t let them stand in the way of your very limited knowledge of anything (fussball included) champ.

 7.
I just hope that, if we do go down, we are willing to pay out enough to bring in strikers that were as valuable as Hooper and Grabban last season.
It''s ridiculously ridiculously ridiculously easy to find people that can score 11 goals in the Champ for FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR less than what you''d pay Gary Hooper, champ.

It might turn out to be bad business getting rid of Hooper for less than we invested, but probably not Grabban for more than he cost us. Even so LG''s contribution was never as bad as some seem to recall and he scored his fair share in contributing to our promotion, including against Ip5wich. Both seem to hit that glass-ceiling when asked to perform in the Premier League. McCormack from Fulham would be my choice, but PL sides will surely come sniffing and Fulham will want to re-coup and more their original expenditure. What''s Forestieri like? He seems to be in the headlines a lot. Relegation (expenditure) tactics: Defenders from the lower leagues. Strikers from the Chumps. Keep the mid-field intact as much as is possible. Remain tactics: Where do I begin? Selling on would likely be just as important in order to alleviate costs and free up squad places.
Forestieri is a diving whine with a lot of ability and in the Championship is a very good option to have. He''s also very mercurial and can be absolute bollocks 90% of the time. Also he''s not a striker. One of the most selfish, but also in the Championship fairly gifted players. I''d be pissed if he were a part of a team I''d support, but he is a "good" fussball player.

 10. I''d take Igor Vetekole off Charlton in a heartbeat.
 11.
Can''t make out why we didn''t just loan Hooper out for the rest of the season instead of selling him. Just incase we go down. Now relegation looks likely, and with Lafferty probably on his way out, we''re left searching for 3 strikers in one window. Just poor from the club.
Because Hooper is utter garbageeven at the Championship level and would be utterly disastrous to pay his salary. He''s really "tearing it up" with Sheff. Wednesday, champ... I mean 1 goal in 10 games is amazing...
 12.
Have to agree, we look so much better without him and Martin looks twice the player now he is not having to cover bassong. Bassong was one of the main reasons we went down last time and has been our main problem this year.
HOLY S--- THE STUPID!
 13. As I''ve said many times before, I''m a Mbokani fan. However to think he had the reputation as some massive goal scoring wonder is straight hilarity
 14.
Has been a major disappointment for me and hasn''t lived up to his goal scoring reputation. The bottom line is that, like Jerome, in that he just doesn''t score enough. But he was never gonna be here for more than one season so it isn''t a big surprise.I said yesterday in another thread that Mbokani, Naismith, Redmond & Brady would already be discussing a way out with their agents. Personally, if his heart isn''t in it and he''s not up for the fight, then I wouldn''t pick him again this season.
Scoring in Belgium isn''t much of a goal scoring reputation, there champ.
 15.
Is he not then?
yep.
 16.
One of our better players, probably bemused why he keeps getting dropped and why he has been put up for an interview
HOLY S--- THE STUPID!
 17.
The ignorance to keep him there when he''s probably the worst centre back in the PL will be one of a reasons this season we get related
Ryan Bennett? Yes, you are right.
 18. I like Mbokani. I understand the stick he gets, and he''s not a prolific goal scorer (it''s just not the type of striker he is). I don''t nec. get the "he''s not a worker" thing, but hey that''s alright. If the guy managed to score 7 goals from play (esp. in this team, I''d call that basically a miraculous total), pretty sure he''d be able to do that with starting the rest of the year. I mean that''s not good enough at this level (as I said I get the complaints). If Alex doesn''t think he''s good enough, I''m not gonna argue. Said elsewhere I have no problem with Cameron Jerome on this team, in the PL he is what he is (which we''ve seen repeatedly is a guy who will miss 95% of his clear cut chances). He brings a lot to the field, goals however is not one of those things unless he gets lucky.
 19.
I think Hooper''s scored 10 in 18 games now that he''s being played in his preferred position. This has all been discussed before though and it''s boring; he didn''t suit us and we didn''t suit him, end of.
Yes, I''m gonna stop. I was wrong with Wood scoring 10 too (8) Both of those other statements are true too. Yes, I still get upset about making Hooper out to be something he''s not (I''ll plead guilty to doing that too, in the negative sense)
 20.

We seem to have perfected the knack of making prolific goalscorers either totally impotent (Mbokani, Grabban, Jerome, RVW), bench warmers (Becchio, Hooper, Lafferty) or both. And it''s interesting that neither Grabban or RVW have managed to recover their pre City form since they left so whatever we did to them looks permanent.Makes you wonder how Hooper managed to avoid this curse and God knows what we will do to Bamford.I''m still of the opinion that Lafferty desrves a run because the current strikers are clearly not up to it.We need goals and sooner or later AN must take the risk & try him.
GARY HOOPER WASN''T A "benchwarmer" CHAMP!
Hooper also hasn''t avoided this "curse" champ. He''s scored in 5 of 20 Championship games. 3 of those were against the bottom 6. He hasn''t played well, champ. I mean Tomer Hemed and Chris Wood are just AMAZING strikers too... (both have more goals than Hooper)
 21.
Mbokani would be good with Wes and Naismith in the team because he always has his back to goal. He works hard and is a very different kind of striker to Jerome as he doesn''t play the channels. He''s got good finishing ability but he doesn''t get himself in the right areas to score. A good striker and a good option; I certainly wish we had him under the Hughton reign except Elmander, Hooper and Wolsfwinkle.
This is a great post.

 23.

Now out of the bottom three again. No worries.
Newcastle with 2 games in hand though :P
The team to worry about is Sunderland. Newcastle aren''t better than us and have a far far far far worse manager, and although Sunderland are shocking a far worse team than us, they have a far far far far far better manager. They will survive before Newcastle.
 24.
To be fair Jerome offers more as a team player then Mbokani. He will be invaluable to us in the championship, I''m just worried the season has destroyed his confidence for next season. We all know what he can do in the second tier. The mistake was by the club selling Grabban and not buying a better strike in the window like Afobe
BTW, I 100% agree with this and actually don''t mind Cameron Jerome as a soccer player. He''ll do the business in the champ more than any striker we''ve had before this year. I expect absolutely 0 from him as a PL striker, other than horrible misses. Also THANK YOU Nathan, as it''s like just consolation, but fingers crossed.
