  1. Pirate Manager we can afford? I am sure there are, trouble is, they have to do their own research don''t they, and look at the track (and sacking) record of Delia and co. Many managers appointed, many failures. Is that not an overwhelming factor in deciding something is not right at Carrow Road, on just mere coincidence? With a more dynamic, positive and competent board of directors we would have no trouble at all in attracting a manager who could work well for us. Someone who''s already proven he can get a team promoted from the lower leagues. But at the present time this is not going to happen. The club as promoted by Delia and co is a farce. A club with magnificent support and the potential for more still is held back by outdated and ill thought out policies from on high. Not only that, but they simply don''t learn from their mistakes. Fans are failing to unite on anything at present, why is that do you suppose? I would suggest that an awful lot of them are (as Richard Balls says) completely fed up with being led into oblivion by a bunch of incompetent, arrogant people who hold scant regard for the fans. Delia taking credit? For what exactly, for hoovering up 66% of the shares, for presiding over two relegations; for failing to prepare properly once promoted, for not doing very much at all to attract investment and for appointing an agency to seek investment (all at her price). And the debt? Risen just slightly hasn''t it? Oh and did I mention the calibre of players we have at Carrow Road these days? Credit, yes, for taking us down to the Third Division. Well done Delia, credit where it''s due.
  2. Thanks Tim, an excellent article - nail on head on so many points raised. Thanks for that Richard. Some more please.
  3. I don''t believe it was billed as a comedy Cam, and as was advertised, he is a fan concerned about the club, so could have come along, others attending travelled similar distances. Just out of interest though, what is your perception (as a journalist) of the average Norwich fan? Does this guy from Sheffield strike you as fairly typical or was the call made by Shaun Lawson a couple of weeks ago more of a standard setting call?
  4. Well, my ears are ringing, but oh dear. Possibly ranks with his good old idol herself as the most embarrassing rant from a supporter ever. He contradicts almost everything he says, first telling us not to blame Delia, then saying it is the board''s fault. Saying we have to get behind Bryan Gunn then saying we won''t come straight back up. A small "community club" with 20,000 supporters (he didnt say ST holders). I doubt he''s ever asked himself why things just don''t add up. I didn''t catch your name sir, but Sheffield is welcome to you. Thanks once again for setting us back years! Where do they get these people? I imagine even those working at the club itself would have been highly embarrassed by that.
  5. Well said Spartan, don''t know where this link is, but could you give us a clue please?
  6. Okay Bigus. There are many reasons why I want Delia to go. First and foremost she has presided over some of the worst football I have seen (I have been coming to CR since 1971). She is responsible for seriously flawed business decisions and by that I mean totally responsible. She may well have appointed certain staff to do the day to day running, but she has the ultimate say. If she has appointed staff who are not fit to run the club, she must change them. IF things still go wrong she must then question her own decision making processes. When Delia came in we were in debt to the tune of roughly 6m. Now it''s roughly estimated at around 20m. Reason one. Despite re negotiating the debt we are still in a far more precarious state than ever. All those years looking for investment and what? There are now three people sitting on the board who have invested. Others have left in mysterious circumstances as the board remain tight lipped on it all. Lack of appointments of adequately qualified business people. We are now reduced to Mr Foulger calling round on local business men and door knocking. Where do these people operate out of, some sort of fairyland? It''s not only a farce but a sick joke for which we are all paying the price. While we were in our promotion year and indeed in the Premiership, was investment sought then? Before then? And what, exactly does investment mean in Delia''s eyes, as we have seen it doesn''t mean anyone coming in and taking over a larger shareholding than herself. But hey, it''s in the club''s best interests and that''s all that counts. Advantage of a complete stranger taking over. Obvious, it would be someone else. We could only hope it would be someone who has some idea about business. Someone with some real ambition to guide the club back to some level of respectability, at least to start with. Frankly we couldn''t do much worse, could we? Look where Delia''s little Norwich mentality has got us. IMO she could remain at the club, but not be at her present level, ie stepping off the board or at least channelling her voting rights to some body who appoints someone democratically elected, along with more board members with proven track records - those with a knowledge of football, business, marketing etc. Above all we need some accountability. At present decision are made at board level which quite frankly have resulted in disaster. Those at the top carry the can.
  7. Lupo, I think you can go back further still. Just looking back at the boards'' managerial appointments, just how many have been made as a result of realistic planning, what research have they carried out on candidates and who has advised on the suitability - and potential of each person. For me it''s not so much about the fans being right. I suppose we can say that''s only a matter of opinion (though relegation is proof enough), what I want to be sure of though is when is the board going to get it right? When are they going to learn from the past appointments and put into place a decent recruitment process? They have made many disastrous and ill thought out appointments based on nothing more than Delia liking them/they are cheap. But of course it goes further than that. IF a decent manager is appointed, what is he going to work with? We can look back with a series of "if only''s". If Rioch had been backed with money, if they had seen sense over Hamilton. It goes much deeper than the appointments of the football manager, and latterly as their little kingdom falls apart, it would take someone of Sir Alex Ferguson''s status to turn us around, not of course that we would even attract anyone of that calibre.
  8. Thanks CA. I imagine it''s going to be just the start of a long hard road ahead.
  9. Okay, last time now Clappy, I am due to go out shortly to join the real world. So, I am not from Suffolk, I lived there for some time, that''s it. I didn''t say I knew Delia''s daughter, she doesn''t have one, I said I am about the right age to be her daughter as you asked if I had been at school with Delia. I know no more about her than anyone else with a reasonable level of intelligence on here. It''s all public knowledge. I suggest you watch Eurovision tonight, call it a geography lesson.
  10. Happy Clapper, if you are indicative of the quality of PR employee at the club I would say you are more than enough to put off any intentional investor. Try putting the spell check back on.
  11. No wonder that nice Mr Munby left, if this lot are any indication of the quality of PR people left at NCFC. Honestly, my (very tongue in cheek) theory about turning Carrow Road into the next great soap opera may have some mileage in it after all. Happy Clapper. Delia is a lot older than me, therefore I didn''t go to school with her, she was brought up in Surrey, which is a long way from Suffolk (look on a map). There, got it, good. Smithy - and they call Norfolk folk thick!!
  12. Tangie - can you explain about buying shares in words I can understand please? IF say, I wanted to buy some could I just go to Barrett and Cooke, help myself to a nice coffee while asking about how many shares are available to the ordinary supporter? Or do I have to do the deed via the club? Which is best?
  13. One lump or two? Er yes, miss the old guy really do, and you have my permission to drag this thread up when you see fit. lol
  14. Yes indeed Mr Carrow, wonder which one recommended switching the spell check off?
  15. It''s hard to know where to start. She''s been around a long time hasn''t she and unless you have been living on another planet (though Ipswich could be considered another world) you would probably know quite a lot. She''s certainly done well for herself by publicising herself at NCFC, and in Sainsbury''s for years.
  16. He may or may not have been a half decent manager, but he could make a grand cup of coffee. He''s much missed on a rainly day at Colney, eh Nutty?
  17. Sorry to disllusion you Clappy, but I am young enough to be Delia''s daughter and I believe she originally hails from Surrey so that''s your latest theory sunk eh? One of the first requirements of working in PR is exacting accurate research. I suggest you start looking up some information in your local library.
  18. Flying Canary. I don''t know if you have seen my earlier post, but the committee are meeting soon to discuss many points such as the one you have raised. If you would like to have some input on this discussion could you please email a committee member with your points and we will certainly add it to the discussion. Similar suggestions to yours have been made and IMO it''s very much worth considering. We are compiling a report about supporters'' views at the meeting and will be seeking a meeting with club officials, indeed hopefully directors themselves. Trying times indeed and time to unite as supporters to seek a way forward for our club.
  19. Oh dear, despite your leanings towards working in the media and PR you have neglected to attend any formal means of education or any debating skills come to that. Can you explain why then the majority shareholder lives in Suffolk?
  20. Yes, I went to school in Suffolk, but we all have to move on. Nice try! You obviously stayed there. The club employ just about anyone these days eh?
