Katie Borkins 1 Posted February 1, 2015 Very strange. Mike Phelan about to be appointed assistant manager to Steve Bruce at Hull Tiger City.Is Phelan moving from under-pressure manager to under-pressure manager in the hope he gets his hands on the Manager''s job when the inevitable happens? If Hull City get sorted, will he be phoning Paul Lambert up next? Also, does this suggest Alex Neil told Mike Phelan he wanted his own guy to come in as coach, and not one of the most successful assistant managers of all time? That, frankly, takes cojones. (That''s spanish for testicles, in case the terminally dim don''t understand.)

Capt. Pants 4,234 Posted February 1, 2015 I still think it strange he took so long out of the game following SAF''s retirement. If he had real ambitions to become a manager why wait so long, and for his stock to reduce? Maybe the money has just ran out.
Syteanric 1 Posted February 2, 2015 if Mike Phelan was good enough to be a manager he''d be one by now...

Syteanric 1 Posted February 2, 2015 even though he did all the interviews for Fergie at Man yoo???I agree though, he has no interest in being a manager and the only reason he left City is because Alex Neil didn''t want him.
norfolkngood 1,087 Posted February 2, 2015 fergie fell out with the tv companies about his son the agent or something like that so someone had to do the interviews and if fergie asked people to do thinks they normally did them jas
