nutty nigel 7,902 Posted February 15, 2014 Are their cup commitments doing them any favours? Does success breed success or is their survival more at risk? Having the game last Wednesday postponed probably hasn''t helped either. But it''s possible they could only play two more league fixtures before coming here on 22nd March. Those would be Arsenal (a) and Palace (h). 12th Feb Man Citeh (a) PP22nd Feb Arsenal (a)1st Mar WBA (h) PP10th Mar Liverpool (h) I assume PP15th Mar Palace (h)22nd Mar Norwich (a) Games with Citeh, WBA and Liverpool to be re-arranged at some point. whoareyou? 0 Posted February 15, 2014 It can''t be in their interests playing so many games. An injury or two won''t help.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted February 23, 2014 Well they lost Saturday and now don''t play again for 3 weeks. I''d love a cup run but then I look at this and wonder...
wooster 134 Posted February 24, 2014 Sunderland and Palace had their midweek games cancelled because of the weather.Sunderland & WBA have their 1st March game cancelled because of the League Cup.Sunderland, Swansea & Villa have their games on 8th/10th March cancelled because of the FA Cup. Are there any rules as to when (or in what order) these games have to be re-arranged?
pete 371 Posted February 24, 2014 If Sunderland beat City in League Cup expect them to do a Birmingham. More likely City will stuff them and Sunderland to compete with Palace for final relegation place.Palace will only get max 10 more points.
