The Masked Raccoon 0 Posted November 20, 2013 Hooper. He came because he wants to play for England in the next World Cup. He could of gone to QPR for money and goals in an easier league. From the past two ''friendly'' games, what England have up front is very much like how we play! How many shots? If ever a time for a player needing to prove themselves on the pitch, the next few months is his stage. For all parties, lets hope he take this window by the horns We do need to feed him but also need him to make space to be fed. Movement and shots on target is key in the next few weeks.
Houston Canary 0 Posted November 20, 2013 Mixed metaphor aside, it would b quite shocking for Hooper to be picked for England at this late date esp. when he has just one (or is it 2) league goals, not to mention he plays for us. The Johnny-come-latelys who get chosen at the last moment to play in the World Cup come from the big teams if they come at all. Sad to say, but that''s how it goes. Holt could have done at least as good as the England strikers in the Euros 2 years ago but didn''t get a sniff.

I doubt there will be any new names in the England squad come the World Cup - the last two games were Hodgson looking at everyone he is interested in. Would take a player hitting incredible form to be able to force their way in at this late stage - can only think Ravel Morisson might do it, or Zaha if he gets a loan move in January and hits the ground running. BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted November 20, 2013 Hooper might have been realistically in with a shout if he had hit the ground running for us at the beginning of the season.I feel that his early injury has probably scuppered any chance he might have had.England do lack a genuine goal poacher and GH has some reputation for this.
