Loughborough Canary 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Does anybody know what happened to Steve Stone after being released by Portsmouth? Think he could be useful in the champ given his experience.
Alan 0 Posted June 16, 2005 I think that Steve Stone would be good but only for one year as he is getting on a bit. He would want decent money and two years so I doubt it would happen. The last thing we need is more players on the books who are past their best and not up to the job, costing money that would be better spent on younger better players. Mark .Y. 375 Posted June 16, 2005 He lives not far from me in Portchester and until recently my missus did his missus'' nails. They were pretty happy down here so I suspect he is most likely to end up with ''Arry Redknapp at Scumton - ooops, Southampton. AJ 1,359 Posted June 16, 2005 Wages i think would be too high. But as Alan says, youth players would be better. They are younger, will last longer and are pretty cheap for what they can turn into. Worthy and norwich seem to have this thing about buying oldies, i wonder why.........
