ZLF 335 Posted February 24, 2005 To all those worried about lack of pace and the age of a defence I would refer you to the superaltive performance of the old AC Milan defence last night - Cafu, Maldini, Costacurta total over 100 alone and were superb - if you buy the right players who can position and organise themselves well and who learn not to rush around like the proverbial headless chicken we too can keep a clean sheet. Now if only we had players who could defend... Mello Yello 2,572 Posted February 24, 2005 Well the approx age of ''de'' fence in my back garden, is about 30 years old. I''ve kept it in pretty good shape, with regular applications of a quality wood preserver - which does what it says on the tin!...... ;~)
chicken 0 Posted February 25, 2005 All three of those players were not on the pitch at the same time. Cafu is 34 the other two are 36 and 38 I believe. Cafu came off for Costacurta. But dont forget they also have Nesta, a world class and very fast centre back. Thats what some of us have been pratling on about for a while now. Its not that our defenders arnt good its that their needs to be a balance in there somewhere. We lack a speedy defender who can keep up/catch up with the faster strikers of which there are many in this league.
