yellow 63 25 Posted November 15, 2012 Fairly young when the ''''Red Army'''' first decended on our fine city, remember the obvious one well, and another season when the Barclay had a mesh type fence next to the vistors section and they dismantled it with a variety of tools, the 70s were certainly a bit dodgy.Always been a needle match since then, but last season was probably the 1st time i can recall there not being loads of them all round the ground

PurpleCanary 6,378 Posted November 15, 2012
I remember in the 04/05 season my cousin and I were being rushed out of the Barcley as a group of utd fans didn''t take the score ''too well''.
From that game. I was standing outside the Jarrold at half-time (when it was still 0-0), getting some fresh air, when this adult Man Utd fan (obviously an alpha male, at least by his standards) appeared from the away section, leading a group of younger fans away from the ground. All of these had, presumably, travelled some distance to get to the game (if not from Manchester...) and paid good money. And as they passed this pied piper figure, by way of explaining to the others why they were leaving with half the game still to come, said:"We''re not staying to see rubbish like that. Watching the youth team would be more worthwhile."And they disappeared into the night, to a pub, or back to wherever home was.
