Team For Man U?

Recommended Posts

I''ve been pretty happy with the team over the past few games but wouldn''t mind a bit of a shake up, I''m happy with the defensive element to remain the same for obvious reasons but I''m not sure on the attacking element?

Ruddy

Whittaker Turner Bassong Garido

Tettey Johnson

But then what?

I''d really like to see Howson again, I don''t feel he has had a fair crack this season what with him being put in a defensive midfield position early in the season. Could Howson play in behind Holt instead of Wes? Don''t get me wrong I like Wes but I do sometimes feel it''s all for show but doesn''t really produce much? He doesn''t seem to be able to finish which for me is an issue when you''re only playing one up front? If not maybe Snodgrass instead and Benno on the wing?

What are your thoughts?

I am still not as sold on Whittaker as everyone else. By no means do i think he is poor, i just don''t think he has been worked particularly hard in his two prem performances, i think the Man U game may give us a firmer understanding of his ability and i hope it is good.
I agree with you about Wes, he does lack a goal threat but he has been one of our stand out players during this recent unbeaten run and I wouldn''t be right to drop him IMO. I would like to see Howson in that Wes role, he looked excellent last year when breaking forward but has looked withdrawn in the role Hughton has played him, i would like to see him given Wes'' freedom. Saying that, if Howson was to play i would be inclined to play Fox instead of Johnson, without Wes in the team no-one takes the responsibility of picking up the ball and spreading the play - something Fox does well.

No change for me

Howsons place is the wes role so until wes form drops he stays on teh bench.

Pilkington is deceptive - he has not been up to last seasons standards yet in each of the last three games he has created goal scoring chances, so while he has been quiet his defensive work remains good and he is making chances for the strikers to miss each game, something the options have not been doing, so he too starts.

Holt is a must start up front, our only realy option at the mo, and on his own again. I hope he lives up to his own hype in todays papers...

That leaves the other flank, I am erring towards Benno over Snod as I think he is better defensively, I think manure will have us on the back foot more than we would like and his pace will be better going forward on the break.

I think Martin is still injured - so whittaker keeps his place; I honestly dont think there is a gnats chuff between martin and whittaker so happy with either

If we have a weakspot I think it will be through Johnson and Turner. But we can get something out of this today.

I predict Wes and Holt are both going to have stormers today, Wes will be allowed too much space in-between their two lines of 4.
Snodgrass and Pilkington both need to show they want that shirt otherwise bennett is ready to come in.
Big game today!

I would have gone Bennet on right to give some support there for defence and mayby Snoddy on left that he could throw crosses to the box better.

Pilks has been a bit out of form lately and he could have been good choise for impact sub at the end, because of his goal threat and legs.

This way or that I trust Hughton got it right.

Why is it he always plays Snodgrass on the right? I''d quite like to see how he fairs on the left with Benno on the right.

We just can''t seem to counter with pace we did last season, interesting game today especially with both Reading and Southampton getting wins...

Because he''s a right winger, always has been. What is the obsession with people wanting him to play on the left? Its not his position...

And yeah, he can play on the left, but he has mainly played on the right. He, and the coaches and managers he''s played under obviously think its his best position.

What are your thoughts?[/quote](1) we are playing Manure - best team in the land(2) Hoolahan is a much better player(3) there is no evidence that Howson can score more goals

So that''s an emphatic NO !!!
