Baldyboy 1 Posted September 23, 2012 what does it matter when we cannot score goals? Sick and tired of hearing the same old crap!!! we made loads of chances! Fact is we ARE the lowest scorers in the League because we didnt sign a striker who can convert chances!!! I hope next week we make one chance and win 1-0!!!! ROBFLECK 134 Posted September 23, 2012 I agree, just cr^p up front and we didn''t do anything about it in the summer. As a football fan I want my team to score goals
Legend Iwan 30 Posted September 23, 2012 Did the same players not score 52 goals last year? 7th highest in the league including two players with 10 or more to their name.
Baldyboy 1 Posted September 23, 2012 same players? Garrido, Bassong, Snodgrass, Turner? they werent here were they? And the one big thing you seem to forget is we have far too defensive a manager now in Hughton!!! You keep living in the past mate and see where it gets us!! Legend Iwan 30 Posted September 23, 2012 No, I''m just trying to take a balanced and non-hysterical approach. You said in your OP about a lack of striker, not the four defence and midfield players you listed above. I noted how we have the same personnel as last year in that position who helped score 52 goals, two of them reaching 10 or more.
Baldyboy 1 Posted September 23, 2012 I am taking a balanced approach, Hughton has changed too much IMO look at swansea got a new manager who has kept them playing football the way they were!!
Legend Iwan 30 Posted September 23, 2012 The point you made in your OP was about our strikers and converting chances, the same players who, as I''ve said, helped score 52 goals, 7th highest in the league, and had two players to reach 10 or more goals. And your point about changing too much is ridiculous. Lambert continually changed formation and tactics (one of his plus points on occasion). We must''ve played a minimum of five different formations last year. He also had a high turn around in players. This weakened us at times, especially defensively. The difference last year is both Pilkington and Bennett made it through unharmed for the majority of the season, that''s sadly not happened so far. 87canary 0 Posted September 23, 2012 "Baldyboy: garrido, basson, Snodgrass, turner? They weren''t here were they?"No they weren''t, we scored 52 without them.Hughton isn''t a defensive manager for Christs sake. If he was, we wouldn''t make as many chances as we are. Our strikers do need to find form. But when they do, we''ll be fine.We got the same result at Newcastle away under ''The Messiah'' last season.Honestly, lose a game and our fans get suicidal. Still a long way to go, and defensively there are at least three weaker teams than us. Villa, Southampton, and Reading if you''re asking.
