Binners on Thursday night

Recommended Posts

Can anybody tell me how the powers that be decide that Thursday night would be a good time to stage the local derby, hope all is peacefull I really do but this has the potential to be a bit messy before & after the game.

I presume it is the geniuses at Suffolk Constabulary, evening kick off gives plenty of time for any troublemakers to get juiced up.  Surely midday on Good Friday would have been a better option to avoid drink induced trouble, or is this too logical for Old Bill.  I don''t expect trouble from City Supporters but the Ipswich nutters are a different case, especially if City win, which we all hope.

Over the past few seasons these have been relatively trouble free since introducing the Sunday KO. Initially even with an evening KO did not think this would be much different but hope I am wrong but there seems to be a different atmosphere this time. With lots of people boasting about having home seats I dont suppose it will have mattered when the KO was as this is likely to be the thing that kicks of problems. Cant beleive Ipswich treated this game that way ie anyone being allowed to buy tickets ala their small neighbours Colchester.

With the fixture falling on Easter weekend the cost of policing is much greater due to holiday pay. Therefore by playing on Thursday night the police avoid having to pay increased wage costs.
