NCFC4LIFE 0 Posted February 15, 2011 I saw on the Lansbury post earlier today someone saying that our flanks are very susceptible to pace when we play the diamond, as we saw on the weekend against Kebbe. This is due to Lansbury not giving the required cover, i agree to a certain extent however i think Lansbury offers a lot more than a attacking threat. I just wonder if Lappin might get a call up this weekend against Leeds, with Gradel (who caused us no end of problems at Carrow Road) and Snodgrass both playing extremely well for them at the minute. Maybe Lambert might counter this by playing a more defensive player like Lappin who provides cover for Drury. I know its not Lamberts tactics to sit back in games and of course City will go to Elland Road for a win on Saturday I just feel he could maybe use Lansbury as a impact/substitute player this weekend. On the other hand he will probably stick with the team that beat Reading this weekend, obviously Whitbread in for Barnett. Which again i would be happy with. Just food for thought?
E Block Loyal 0 Posted February 15, 2011 Definitely worth thinking about. I wouldn''t be surprised to see us set up slightly less gung-ho then we usually are, I''d actaully be tempted to bring in Korey on the right to offer Martin some protection as Gradel absolutely roasted him at Carrow Rd. Maybe play with a four (Smith, Crofts, Fox, Lansbury?) plus Hoolahan playing off Holt? I wouldn''t try to second guess him though, we''re just as likely to line up with three up top plus Hoolahan and Lansbury! I''d take a point, I must admit. Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted February 15, 2011 I hope we''re not chasing the game after the first half. I was pilloried for asking whether Lansbury''s loan has a Wenger condition that he starts, but he always starts and several people are now asking whether a more defensive initial line up excluding him might begin some games. On a positive note I thought Fox is putting his foot in a lot more lately and added to his long passing has made him difficult to drop. Leeds home scoring record hasn''t been great but like us they do well away from home suggesting their forwards like a bit of space too. Norwich and Leeds have incredibly close records. We need to be defensively strong but it is likely to be a moment of real quality or an inspired managerial tactical ploy that wins this. If I had to guess I would expect PL to play his flair players on the basis Leeds will worry about conceeding and attack is the best form of defence. It is going to be fascinating. Captain Fantastic 0 Posted February 15, 2011 Russell Martin was isolated in the home game against Gradel and was taken to the cleaners.
jed exodous 0 Posted February 15, 2011 I''m going Saturday and looking forward to it.Its not a game we have to win, as much as i''d like us to, its a game we mustn''t lose. We have good momentum and the Leeds players will not be looking forward to the prospect of our late surges. I too, think Lappin could be a good idea. I was very impressed with Snodgrass when i saw him at Carrow road, think Drury may need a bit of help. I would bloody love it if Holt could get the winner...
