How to load a photo

Can anyone tell me how to load a photo directly onto a post (as opposed to leaving a link to a photo site)?

You need to copy the direct link to the image (which will end in .jpg or similar) and paste it between img tags.[.img]*link here*[/.img]^ Then remove the dots.

Copy and paste has NEVER worked for me with Firefox; so many complaints over missing pictures on the joke thread when I''ve done exactly that.
