Almost a week old but wouldn''t be a bad signing if you ask me, primarily a centre back can cover both full back positions which is an issue at present.

Edgar could potentially be a great signing. We were linked with him when he was at Newcastle but it never happened in the end.

Still pretty young (23) and can play CB, RB, LB or defensive midfield. It''d mean we wouldn''t need any more additions defensively for the rest of the season barring a complete injury crisis.

I''d be very happy if Lambert signed him. He''s still got the potential to be a very good player.

I''m unaware of his ability. Do people think he will be sitting on the bench to provide cover when needed, or think he is someone to really challenge for starting 11?

Depending on the fee, David Edgar seems a really good investment; 6''4", young, relevant experience (incl. Prem) and loads of time to develop further. 

I''d take him over Whitbread that''s for sure!...
