Morph 31 Posted November 11, 2004 I didn''t want to start a new topic on this but couldn''t find a suitable thread to tag this one on the end of.Can anyone shed any light on what has happened to Rob Hulse?Wasn''t he a City target for a while until "fat wallet" Megson stepped in and took him off to WBA. With Megson now gone from WBA and Robson in the chair and with the extra forwards they have there in Kanu and Earnshaw, is it possible or even interesting to get him as a striker on loan in the January window? He couldn''t cut it at West Brom, who are not exactly renowned for their silky football skills, so how on earth would he cope here?, very badly, I would suggest!. ZLF 335 Posted November 11, 2004 Hulse was the Crewe based target for city before Ashton and shows that throwing cash at an unproven player is risky - he had as good a scoring record as Ashton and cost WBA £2m. However as Wiz points out he was poor for the baggies after an initial burst and lost his place in the side before being plagued by injury. Not a suitbale player for us and shows how difficult it is to sign the right striker even when you chuck cash at the problem.OTBC
Morph 31 Posted November 11, 2004 OK, then Hulse is not an option. However, thinking along these lines with the January window in mind is there any striker out there that is currently out of favour with their current club that could do a job for City?I know the ideal situation is that City can pick up a hot prospect with the money they have available, but several posters in this forum have noted that the names that have been thrown around are attracting attention from other potential suitors - Bent, Ashton and so on. So what "reject/s" can do a job for the Canaries?
