Have Norwich always had a poor defence? I''ve supported ncfc for nearly 18 years and can remember the dark wilderness years (eg 1997/1998) when we used to leak goals at an abnormal rate.

Again the defence wasn''t quite good enough to keep us in the Premier League (I seem to remember the debate at the time was how short the players were).

Or perhaps I''m just scapegoating defenders…

Not surprising since we havn''t invested any money in the defence in so long i can''t remember.

Too many changes over recent season all through the team, no stability. We haven''t defended well as a team. Having said that, there''s no doubt that that the defence itself needs to be worked on.

I''m sure Lambert will know that and I think he''s finally the right man to do something about it.

Or perhaps I''m just scapegoating defenders…[/quote]Actually our defence used to be pretty tight, I seem to remember that for a season or two with Malky and Fleming at the back we had one of the meanest defences in the entire football league. Our issue back then was that we didnt score enough goals as a team with Iwan bagging the most at around 14/15 a season.
