Fickle-fan-ometer

Recommended Posts

Everyone''s entitled to their opinion but the fickle-fan-ometer is starting to swing about wildly.

Poor old Helveg!! He comes on against West Brom as a sub last week and the response is - great, improved our position, used his experience ....etc etc. This week he''s as welcome as the black plague.

Mackenzie, and especially Svennson, were taking their share of stick a month ago, now they''re marvellous.

Even the bench are getting it now - for not being more demonstrative enough. A bit of a change there.

And the board, of course, have slipped to become short-sighted, small minded and unrealistic.

And us of course. Away (and home) support has been unstinting whatever the result or outcome, yet on this board the bitching is gathering momentum. Even old DD''s gone negative!

Wonder what''ll happen if we beat Newcastle or Man City.

Come on guys, get behind your team and especially your manager. There''s no doubt they''re doing their best and giving 100%. So should we.

And that physio, how long did he take running over to look at Mckenzie on Saturday, disgusting, is he not fit?? Why do the club employ him if he can''t run, disgraceful, etc

And the service at the bar at half time has gone down hill; why did wind blow away my programme at half time, why does my hotdog now taste different now we are in the premiership.

What are the odds on a "Time for Worthington to go" topic in a couple of weeks?

Ayrton you realise that you will now be lambasted for your comments & accused of not being able to bring debate to this forum. I think we should have a forum for positve fans & 1 for the old misery guts. I''m as gutted as anyone that we have not won yet but I am thrilled with what the club is trying to acheive & the football we are playing.

Good post AT.  Rational throughout.  It''s a good job that the players and coaching staff remain focused on doing their jobs ''cos if they read some of the opinions on here, however well intentioned, they might feel like giving up now!  Having seen the footage of the lads at training yesterday (on Anglia News) it is clear that the spirit and togetherness is still there in abundance.  Even Worthy was in hysterics over something...very animated for him.  Whilst it isn''t damaging to feel and express more negativity on a messageboard like this it is going to be so very important that we stick together in our support of the team on the pitch, which I''m sure we will all try hard to do.  The sooner that first win comes the sooner we''ll all begin to feel a bit better, I''m sure of it!

I agree, all my friends are being negative about City (the ones who go and the ones who don''t) I''m practically the only one who isn''t having a pop at them and getting worried. They will come good, wether they''ll stay up or not I don''t know but if they carry on the way they can play (for 45 minutes usually, but extend it to a full game) We''ll get a few wins.

Didn''t we all know it was going to be hard?

ayrton

this board is just warming up nicely, god all the rose coloured stuff can be boring, nothing and no one is perfect, least of all our football club

if people didn''t protest we would all still be living in medieval times wouldn''t we, and this club would be dead (you know what i mean, and there are numerous posts about it)

as for DD, he is only saying what he thinks, i don''t think he is negative, in fact not many on here are!  We are all on this board to express our views, i was slatted to hell and back last year over the huckerby stuff and when i get going will expect it all again! and rightly so

remember we are all passionate norwich supporters who care, we just think and show it differently!

I agree that Helveg''s came in for a bit of unfair stick, but I can''t really remember McKenzie getting any, I think most people on these boards rate Leon and are pleased to see him being given his chance.

Even though Gazza is right, and DD has not gone completely negative, I think saying "Svensson is not going to get goals" followed by his mantra - "Keep the faith" - is slightly ironic!Good post Ayrton, but we''ve seen in the past how fickle fans are. I remember a fair few "I''m not renewing my season ticket if we don''t sign Hucks" tantrums, but everyone calms down in the end.I think slating players (and I''ve heard a LOT of that on the Barclay this year) is inexcusable without first giving them proper chance to prove themselves - ie Helveg - or remembering their great performances only a couple of months before - Matty Svensson.

Whoa whoa whoa!  Your 3rd point Ayrton:

"Mackenzie, and especially Svennson, were taking their share of stick a month ago, now they''re marvellous."

McKenzie has had one good game and Svennson one good half!  I''d hardly say they were now marvellous.  Give them a month to see what they can do.

I know I had a bit of a moan on my other thread but I''m still in total support of the team.  Whichever 11 Worthy puts out I''ll still cheer them on and back them 100%.  However, as a fan I think I have the right to air my opinions and if a player isn''t doing his job, I''ll say it on here.  I''ll still sing his name and back him when he pulls on a yellow shirt though!
