Dean Coneys boots 1,400 Posted March 8, 2009 They fell quick and rose quick...we are in steady decline. This is a much harder and more depressing scenario. We will struggle to become a top hal champ side for at least five seasons or more unless we have MASSIVE investment.
canaryfan68 0 Posted March 8, 2009 I can''t ever remember hearing their directors saying ''little old Man City'' when they went down....although ours will be saying that its not a level playing field and that its alright for the bigger teams.Just remember who it was who beat the mighty Bayern Munich and the only English team to do so on their old ground? How we have fallen so swiftly!
lucky green trainers 0 Posted March 8, 2009 man city had rich(ish) owners - who had enough dosh to get ''em up into the champs - the started borrowing - did enough to get promotion - again borrowed heavily to get up the prem league - before their £60m debt began to tell - they got pearce in and couldn''t afford new signings and nearly got relegated - and had their bacon saved by 2 foreign investors...so no... JJ 0 Posted March 8, 2009 They cut it fine mind you. At Xmas they were heading for mid-table in the old Div 2 before a run took them to the play-offs. They were 0-2 down in the final to Gillingham with ONE MINUTE to go, before eventually winning on pens.Such a close call. I wonder how much the course of football history would have changed?
