Colourful Canary 0 Posted December 1, 2008 Will Norwich City be following Barnsley''s lead and reducing admission prices due to the cut in V.A.T. rate from 17.5% to 15% as announced by the Chancellor the other week ? I know it''s only a 2.5% cut, but the intention behind it is for consumers to pay less, not necessarily for businesses to increase their profits. If ticket prices stay the same, and NCFC only has to remit 15% to the Chancellor rather than 17.5%, they will be making yet more profit at the expense of the fans. Well done Barnsley, and any other clubs who choose to follow their example, for passing on the rate cut to the consumer, as this is only fair. I await with interest to see what sort of conscience NCFC has these days.

[/quote] One would assume that ST holders who paid in full will not get their 2.5% back for the coming games as they have already paid and were invoiced before the change.ST holders who pay monthly have more of a case for a 2.5% cut over the cut rate period and so could claim back what? say £5-6 on average, is there any point?Tickets sold from now until the rate goes back up will I assume be sold at the 15% rate and so yes the supporters who buy tickets casually will see this benefit. Hope this answers your question cheersTipster
we8wba 0 Posted December 1, 2008 wolves have announced that our "early bird" season ticket (which is done for freeze price each year) will come down slightly to match the new v.a.tevery little helps during the credit crunch

Colourful Canary 0 Posted December 1, 2008 My point was not whether season ticket holders can claim back the additional VAT (I doubt whether many of them are VAT registered anyway)....... I was wondering why the club have not announced a drop in admission prices, which, if they had any scruples, they would, like Barnsley who have knocked £1 off across the board. VAT is not my specialism, but there may be an argument that a season ticket is a prepayment, with ''delivery'' being at each individual game, Therefore the VAT point would arguably be at each and every game, and not on cash payment for the season ticket. But as I said, VAT''s not my thing.
