Irish canary 0 Posted November 2, 2008 Do we not have enough strikers and loan signing around to put out a team?!!! As soon as Sibierski is a doubt, russel is put up front, its crazy!!Can he not play lupoli etc?!! why sign these players if you dont even use them when they are needed ( & in my opinion I would start lupoli anyway alongside lita regardless of who is fit) And yet again players are not just dropped to the bench but out of the squad, hoolahan being another example, (fair enough if a player is not playing well and u drop them but not out of the squad! put them on the bench). It also weakens the midfield. Im baffled. This team will never gel now cos we simply dont have a regular team! Sorry rant over. [st]
Houston Canary 0 Posted November 2, 2008 It looked like Koroma was just starting to find himself in the Southampton game when he got subbed out. We had done nothing offensively that game and suddenly he was making some good shots on goal. Then YANK! Has he been in the line up since then?Have we yet scored first on the road this season? Why start with just one striker like we did yesterday? If Cureton needs a big striker with him, why is he only ever played solo or with a small striker? Now he is barely played at all. It''s like the line up choices that players have shown work best for them in the past are the only ones not being considered. Is the manager such an a-hole that he is bound and determined to find his own recipe for success even if it means dragging the team down with him? Go with what''s proven to work, and then tinker with what is left over after that. Don''t try to re-invent the game just so you can put your stamp on the team because the stamp on the team right now is being rejected as insufficient postage. GJP 79 Posted November 2, 2008 I can''t believe he didn''t sort out the striker situation in the summer. It was obvious for months and months that we were desperately short of fire power (and on top of that he knew Dion was retiring and that he was foolishly letting Hucks go) yet he failed to sign even one when we needed 2 or 3.If you don''t score goals then you don''t win games of football. Bury Yellow 2 Posted November 2, 2008 But to me GJP this is the biggest mystery of all.I think that Roeder had been told he had more money to spend than what actually transpired. Think back to all his comments during the close season. Nothing he forecast came to fruition other than Hooligan If this is not correct, than Roeder is truly culpable. As a postscript to this: I was lucky enough to speak to Lee Clarke at the team hotel in Plymouth (a real gent by the way). He stated any team with a couple good goal scorers in this league would finish in the top six. At the time we didn''t have one.
