Dean Coneys boots 1,531 Posted May 28, 2008 With the huge cull and deafening silence on Doc''s contract it could easily seem as though the rats are jumping a sinking ship....of course that may be rubbish but NCFC need to make a big signing soon in order to encourage the fans and send a clear statement of intent to all other potential recruits. At the moment - were I a potential player- I would be worried at joining such a thin squad..
The Chirp 0 Posted May 28, 2008 i hope in a way we get shot of the doc... i think he has done quite well but i worry that we are far too slow in the centre of the park at the mo... You either need pace in the centre of a decent positional football brain player such as Malky or Newsome etc... Doc isn''t this... he''s more a workman... I think this could be the hold up... Roeder must see that he needs better qualtiy and prob looks at the doc and or shack as back up.
TheCardinal 0 Posted May 28, 2008 I would agree they need big signings, just not the soon bit. As long as some players are signed up and ready for action by the start of pre-season with some more on the way during pre-season I''ll be happy.

Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted May 28, 2008
Transfer window hasn''t opened yet... not till the 1st...
True but there is nothing stopping us from securing these signings now ready to be announced on the first. Mind you though, for all we know they already have!!
Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted May 28, 2008 I think if we signed Martin Taylor, Maceo Rigters and Wes Hoolahan then that would a signal of intent. 3 players I would love to see at the club permanantly.
Hog 0 Posted May 28, 2008 I agree big hair, they would be great signings, and would go a long long way to satisfy the majority of fans.

June 1st is when these things are made public, fingers crossed. Whatever happens though I think it is vital that at least half of transfer targets are signed in time to start pre-season training. Iwan is God 0 Posted May 28, 2008 It is my understanding that players can be signed before the 1st of June. They just can''t be registered to play before then???

Hog 0 Posted May 28, 2008 You are quite right, as seen by the recent signing of Vokes by Wolves, it is concerning that we have had nothing to announce yet, but lets just hope there is a flurry of activity next week and we actually beat our rivals to some of these players for once.
