Theythinkitsallover 0 Posted May 18, 2008 Do you lot have a wage structure you adhere to or is it more of a case of the better the player the more he gets. I know we did have but i don,t know if it has changed. The point is that if Ipswich or Norwich want to attract good players from the bright lights of London or wherever both clubs are going to have to pay top dollar in wages. We have been linked to lots of players since the takeover and i see your name cropping up in the papers a lot. I know some of what is read is rubbish but not all of it and both clubs need strengthening but is the reason both clubs are having trouble due to the wages we pay? [/quote]I''m sure it''s both. There''s a ceiling over which we won''t pay, say £10k a week, and players are allocated a place between £0-10k depending on ability, age, influence, and in the new Roeder world, how hard they work in training. James Kent 0 Posted May 20, 2008 I think its a case of a wage budget of X amount per week. Then there will be several groups of players: promising yougster Young stars of the future like Chris MartinSquad Players Important playersStar PlayersThen for each group there will be a range of salary. Would we pay considerably more for a player, I would think so as long as we stay below the wage budget.

Sorry, I honestly think his time is nearly up and we will end up on a fast desent down the leagues.

Hog 0 Posted May 20, 2008 But unfortunately he was considered to be a star of the future, Man Utd sniffed around and so we gave him a good contract. So getting rid of him is not going to be easy, best solution is for him to lose weight and get his head sorted out because at the moment he is worthless, literally! James Kent 0 Posted May 20, 2008 I should point out that I don''t hold the view that he is a star of the future, but that is what he was regarded as when he burst onto the scene. As we know he signed pro terms quickly after scoring a few goals, so will be in the wage section for future star. Although as pointed out he is just as likely to play in the lower leagues. He has a real fight on his hands to impress Roeder and surely he will be loaned out this season. Yankee I will have a look at the other thread.
