Matty Pattison

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how happy he is at Carrow Road - when he was on loan he played almost every game, since he signed permanantely he''s been dropped to the bench!

I know Bertrand has been a revelation on the left wing but Matty must be worried he''s left a Premiership bench to sit on a Championship one!

With the way Bertrand is playing i''d certainly pick him over Pattison so can''t blame Roeder - just hope Matty can reclaim the position before the season ends (esp if Hucks is going)

Why do you hope he reclaims the position before the season ends?

I don''t. He isn''t playing because he isn''t as good as other players that can play there. Yes I know he put in two crosses for two goal in his first game but since then his performances have been below that which is required.

He is an honest lad I''m sure. I actually thought he looked ok when he played inside in a central role breaking things up. However you can''t see a central pairing of Russell and him creating a lot. Maybe Russell''s position is the on he should be challenging for.

His role as a winger will be limited as he lacks pace. His passing leaves a lot to be desired on many occasions too.

So I don''t really hope he plays for us again before the end of the season. He isn''t as good as anybody he would replace. So he belongs on the bench. If there is room as I''d always have Huckerby on the bench ahead of him as well.

Matty Pattison with his drive and passion has provided real competition in our midfield and made others raise their game. He has been a major factor in our recovery and run and needs to keep Fotheringham and Russell under pressure to perform. I do not see him as a rival to a wide player.

It would not surprise me to see Roeder include Matty with Rusty and Fozzy in a midfield to include two wingers with one up front. matty would sit deep so others could bomb forwards.

In October, Rossi Jarvis was first choice in our central midfield. Now Matty Pattison can only get on the bench. Is there a better illustration of how far we''ve come since Roeder took over?

I agree, when you look at some of our "squad" players under Grunt..... Light weight Lappin for example we are a million miles from where we were. It is up to Matty to break into the team, but lets face it if you were the manager would you break up Rusty & Fozzy ??? It has to be said for a defender, plastic does a half decent job as a midfielder. However, Matty is young & he will be here next season & plastic & Hucks won''t!!!!!

I hope he proves himself good enough to win a first team place back since Bertrand and Hucks are not likely to be here next season so he could be all we''ve got!

however, with the way things are going maybe Hucks will stay, Bertrand will come back on loan, and the three of them can compete with Joe Cole or Ryan Giggs for a permanent spot on the left wing

or maybe i''m getting carried away...
