BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Just asking. Never heard of one. Most organisations anchor themselves within a policy & performance management framework involving the organisational vision, mission statement, goals, objectives etc, which are reviewed and modified/updated periodically. Derived from these plans is the annual budget.Performance targets are set usually based on key performance factors/areas.Regular performance measurements and reviews provide the information base for ongoing management decisions, including corrective actions. Annual retreats involving board members and key staff are useful techniques, as are periodic brainstorming sessions with a wider range of staff. Some people also find occasional SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) exercises useful. And benchmarking.Does the club do these things or do they just concern themselves with the bare numbers and stumble along?Just asking. Anybody know?OTBC
Barry Brockes 157 Posted February 26, 2007 I frequently wonder to myself just what the heck does go on within the inner sanctum at NCFC as to the outside world there appears to be very little action and we appear to be a million miles away from the framework set out above. What exactly does go on after yet another abysmal performance on Saturday? Is it put down to bad luck with a hope that things will get better, are there any concerns about relegation, is there an action plan to make sure we do all we can to avoid the drop? Maybe there is but what worries me most of all is that I see no evidence of any action. Does Grant have to explain what he is up to because I have to admit to becoming fairly confused or, as there appears to be no footballing knowledge on the Board, do they leave it all up to him and ask no searching questions? In the absence of any evidence that something positive is happening I suspect the two most apt words above are ''stumble along'' with the addition of the word from Mrs. Smith''s lips that sent a shudder down my spine last week -''hope''. Is that all we have to rely on?

Goals For, Goals Against, Points etcUnderperforming on all fronts in my opinion and time for some serious action by those in charge.
