PhatCanary 0 Posted January 13, 2007 What has happened to Paul McVeigh? he has no first or second touch, no passion and no fitness he is a joke!!! he should be released on a free along with Thorne,Hughes and Robinson this club needs players with passion and spirit, also being able to pass and control the ball would help, bloody hell what has happened to this once great football club, i think this is the worst team in years and the board need to pull there fingers out and give Grant some cash, and before any one says we have none..CRAP we have more than enough to be able to spend a few million, don''t believe the spin coming out of Carrow road we are being let down big time at the moment, come on Delia and co, sort it!!!! Holtys revenge 0 Posted January 13, 2007 I would like to imagine that McVeigh''s dismal appearance today (not just talking about his hair) was putting him in the shop window - although it was more of a jumble sale.Bloke goes up to the turnstile this afternoon with £60 in his hand and says "two, please". The gateman says, "Centre Halves or full backs, mate?"....

He was a damn good player a few years ago, but has badly lost his way....

We only paid £50k for Robinson, and I''d be happy to get £50k for him given his performances this season. Thorne needs to be transferred to a lower-league club, get him off the wage bill. If we can find a buyer for McVeigh then I''d definitely sell him.I''d probably hang on to Hughes - you say we need players with real passion and spirit, and Hughes has at least got that. I know he''s not a good player, but he filled in really well at left-back against Leicester when Drury got injured, and if you want squad players who will give 100% in any position then he''s worth keeping hold of purely for that. Again, who''s going to buy him?And if you think we have ''a few million'' to spend, I think you''re sorely mistaken - we were going to spend £2m on Cotterill in August, but I think that would have been all our budget used up, and we''ve spent half a mil on Chadwick and Brown since then. We''re still about £18m in debt, and I''d be surprised if Grant spends any more than £1.5m in this window (unless we sell Earnie).

Bobert 0 Posted January 13, 2007 Why put an unfit McVeigh up against known 6ft+ dfenders? Surely Grant must have done some homewok. He had two strikers on the bench and the job goes to pint sized, pony tailed McVeigh. The Carrow Road Accountant said last week that he did not believe the club would reach the play offs this year or next and that Carrow was currently conducting a cost cutting exercise. Well bully for him and his mates because I believe that both he and his fellow executives should fall on their swords. We don''t need expensive accountants, chief executives, cooks and bottle washers. We don''t need Chairmen taking £25,000 out of the club for entertaining other club chairmen. We need players who are hungry for success.Remember the guys who used to have trials at Carrow Road and be proud of it for the rest of their lives. Those are the players we need. Flybee is a low cost but successful airline. We need low cost excecitives at Carrow and we need to spend every available penny we have on players who want to play for the Canaries.
