Fat Barman 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Quite right, Angel, Wet Sham''s best seasons under Pardew have been since Grant became his assistant - that''s the same background as Bowen. The only difference is Grant had the misfortune to join us after the UEFA cup adventure and so isn''t revered as much for past glories. In every other respect he ticks all the same boxes as Bowen & Crook, good servants to the club, all three of them, all with experience as assistant bosses in teams which have prospered during their tenures.I too would have enjoyed seeing Bowen & Crook return, but I''m quite happy to give Peter Grant my full backing - On The Ball City! Gutted OTBC St.John
Bowen didnt want it, Peter Grant did so lets get behind him!!
We all need to unite behind the new manager now! Some people were always gonna be disappointed whoever it was, more because of who it is, but that''s only because he is an unknown as far as management goes. There was disappointment when bothWalker and Worthington were appointed and they both gave us success. Peter Grant must have impressed in interviews, he must have come with good reports from the football people who advise the board. He knows the club and knows it''s limitations and as you say he wanted the job. Lets all give him a chance and see what he can do!
Maverick 0 Posted October 13, 2006 I think you might find that we''ll end up with Grant and Crook instead...
