It’s the end of November. We are sitting second to Birmingham in the league and already a gap has opened up to the chasing pack. Ipswich, meanwhile, having sold the crown jewels, are sitting third from bottom.

Ian Henderson has been a revelation on the right of midfield and is scoring some spectacular goals, like he did three seasons ago. Earnie is top scorer in the Chumpionship and no clubs are interested in signing him. McKenzie is scoring almost as many as he fluffs. The defence is rock solid with Adam Drury roaring like a lion at this men. Docherty hasn’t given away a free kick on the edge of the box all season and Shackell has stayed clear of injuries. The French guy whose name escapes everyone is supremely match fit and powering forward at every opportunity.

Our midfield is calmly picking the ball up from the back and stroking it forward in a way reminiscent of Ian Crook in his heyday. Even Andy Hughes, now a big favourite with the fans, has calmed down and stopped clapping everything that moves around him. Huckerby is staying on his feet and has rediscovered his pace and Dickson Who R U is dominating the midfield like a young Partrick Viagra.

The crowd are chanting Nigel’s name and Delia is talking to the media again.

Carrow Road is once again a four-star fortress and all is well with the world.
