Actually a bit crazy that OG Ronaldo is only 8 years older than Ego Ronaldo.

Can't stand Cristiano, but have to admire him as an athlete.

Messi the best of his generation though, and OG Ronaldo the best of his.

The Ballon D'or is such a farse. I can't believe people bought so hard into Messi Vs Ronaldo.

It's been heavily weighted towards goalscoring forwards.

It's embaressing that Messi is still winning it. The guy is playing in an awful league at 37.

Even Messi was embarrassed to win it that year that Lewandowski finished 2nd, think it was 2021, he pretty much said when accepting that he thought it should have gone to Lewandowski.

But Messi is an absolutely unbelievable player, don't forget that the 2023 one accounted for his 7 goals and 3 assists in 7 games in the 2022 World Cup, which Argentina won. It was recognition that he'd finally delivered in international football and won the games biggest prize.

Not really a statement of him, but more of the farse of what is called a prestigious award.

Getting it for the world cup... since 2008 only two players other than Ronaldo or Messi won it.

Modric and Benzema. 

In that time Messi only failed to get top 3 once.

Look at the competition in the past. So good the likes of Del Pierro never made the top 3. Goalkeepers are never likely to get it. Buffon, an absolute legend, didn't get one.
