Lib Dems joke of the day

Recommended Posts

South Norfolk Lib Dem leaflet has just arrived. They won 3 local seats in the May Council election but one of those 3 resigned 3 months later due to a lack of time.

Their leaflet for the resultant by-election is headed "£1m wasted on by-elections".

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. People are seriously suggesting that Labour forms a coalition with these people.

"by resigning so close to a General Election"

BJ resigned on 9th June. The next GE is unlikely to be until January 2025. Thats 19 months. Hardly "so close to a GE". 😂

Bu11sh1t fake outrage point-scoring leaflets like this is why most of the electorate are alienated by mainstream Political Parties and often don't participate in the vote.

The Lib Dems have also lost two large demographics of voters for life in the last few GEs, one being Clegg's abandonment of free university fees in 2010 (they trebled them with the Tories in coalition). And how their party went "Hardline Remain" in 2016-2019 under Swinson, alienating any moderate eurosceptic-leaning membership of the party, forcing them back to Tories or Farage's Parties.

The Lib-Dems are clearly not really targeting Labour but the Tories in the so called 'Blue Wall' seats in the South and South West. All those ex Tory voters (likely Remain), pro-business, middle of the road traditional Tories that have just had enough of the current shambles.

I suspect they'll do very well where they target!

This is of course the pincer movement on the Tories - caught between Labour and the Libdems and with some added tactical voting to boot such that the Tories are likely to do a lot worse than the simple base line polling suggests (did I see a report indicating another 30 or so seats to lose simply because to these tactical/optimization effects), Tories down to 130 or so seats?  Something like that in one of those MRP polls that have proven quite accurate.

The biggest joke is anyone believing Labour won't be any less a shower of lying corrupt sh1t in majority government than they were last time.

It's a real mark of just how cr4p Labour is that they feel the need to punch down so hard at smaller parties that promote real reform. A sure sign of insecurity.

Speaking of joke councillors though, the Labour council leader who was holidaying in the US while his council was declared bankrupt raised a chuckle with me.
