The Judge 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Statements like these are why the vast majority of fans are extremely unhappy with Worthington at this point in time - whether you are in favour of him going or staying - the man just shows that he is happy with very average/poor football - and the Norwich board are buying it !!"Very good results away from home" - OK i''ll grant you the Sheffield Utd result was a "very" good one. Other than that we have only won 4 other times away in the league (out of 18 matches) the other wins were against the mighty Brighton, Crewe, Leicester and Ipswich (which in the circumstances you could also say was a good performance).Apart from that i''d argue we''ve been absolutely terrible away from home - defeats at places such as Millwall, Derby, QPR, Stoke, draws at Hull, Plymouth and Coventy, and no shows at Palace and Luton. How on earth can anyone connected with Norwich City football club say that we have had "some" very good results - whilst in the same breath ignoring the fact the rest of the performances have been unacceptable. This is I would conclude is the reason why we are in the mess we are in - they actually do believe they are doing OK and as long as Nigel keeps telling Delia, Michael, Roger, etc this he will remain in charge... Baldyboy 1 Posted March 10, 2006 this just highlights where the club are at. they are satisfied that we have won FOUR away games and been absolutely disgraceful in many other ones. nothing will change with worthy in charge. it wouldnt surprise me if we just go and try to shut up shop and hope for a draw tomorrow so he can say the usual about great results, grinding out results, we worked hard and had great work ethic! the most important things to this pathetic manager, good football and giving youngsters a chance are not what he is about and if he stays next year, as looks likely now, it will be much the same then! Evil Monkey 52 Posted March 10, 2006 Absolutely ridiculous!I''m going tomorrow - My missus and I will be in opposite ends of the ground, so I demand a good performance at the very least so that at least she can''t take the whizz out of how gash we are...Can''t see it happening though....Must admit, I almost want Leeds to win... not because of the Worthy-Out Factor, but because nothing would please me more this season than for the Blunts, who have been gloating all season about how they''re going to cruise to promotion, to suddenly be knocked out of the top two, and then lose in the play-offs!Plus Leeds getting promoted will make my girlfriend happy, which always leads to nice things... ;)
JohnoBono 0 Posted March 10, 2006 I think that it just goes to show how high Worthy is aiming this season. What he calls good and what the supporters call a good performance seems to be poles apart. He obviously see''s the games differently to most other people. What does worthy call a bad performance I wonder? Perhaps he just measures performance on work rate? Work Work Work that''s all football is isn''t it?And what did he say in the EPD today. ''We have had a good week on the training ground - the players have worked hard again and worked well. ''What we have found out this season is that it is not all about pretty football. It''s just a case of battling, competing and winning games.''What about skill, flair, creativity, playing football, and getting the crowd off their feet with something to shout about. No it''s dire, dire, bore, bore, work, work, Worthy
