Newport News

Recommended Posts

Sadly maybe, this is not an exciting message about a fabulous midfielder signing from Newport County FC, so everybody calm down please. Instead, here is a tentative suggestion: -

Newport News is not a newspaper, it is a city in Virginia, USA. On January 28, 1886, Collis P. Huntington founded Newport News Shipbuilding aiming to earn a reputation for building the best ships in the world. In doing so he shaped the art and craftsmanship of shipbuilding for more than a century. Newport News Shipbuilding grew into the world-class business Huntington dreamed of when he said:

“We shall build good ships here. At a profit—if we can. At a loss—if we must. But always good ships.”

I wonder if @Ricardo and all those many others on this Forum who value the traditional ethos of Norwich City Football Club might like the club to promote: -

“We shall play good football here. To win if we can – or lose if we must. But always good football”

What say you?

Best to all,

Don

I got a coach from Richmond to Virginia Beach that made a stop at Newport News for half an hour, back in 2008. Bought a can of Pepsi and a Twix.

Perhaps a bit over optimistic.

I would suggest following the advice I have told many a fair young maiden

Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed
