I was just interested in how many people are likely to make the trip to Germany next month ?

When City were last there I went to just the schalke game and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. I clearly remember being on a train going to the game with a large contingent of Germans who were off to a darts match and they shared their food and alcohol with me. After the game schalke and City Fans all mixed together on the bus going back to the train station.

i decided to go again this year and again will take in just the one game, the Saturday match. I would have considered both especially as it’s Darmstadt but had already booked my flight. In hindsight it’s probably better just the one game for me as two games would have been a bit of a drag plus especially as I will be alone. Also I noticed the flights have now increased enormously since I booked so had I waited the cost would have been much more.

One final memory of the schalke game was standing on the terrace drinking German beer in the sunshine, hopefully that will be replicated !

I'll be in Germany visiting Miss TGS, but too far away (I broached the idea on Skype but it's five hours on the train to Darmstadt).

If flights have gone up consider a change of airport. Someone on here, forgotten who, is flying to Frankfurt-Hahn for the Kaiserslautern match. If Frankfurt am Main is too pricey, you could try flying to Frankfurt-Hahn or, considering the public transport links, Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn or even Düsseldorf.

That would be me! Land on the Friday close to midnight and I have to navigate my way to Kaiserslautern early doors the next day to make kick off!

I just wondered if there are many more making the trip over to Germany ?

Although I’m only going to the Kaiserslautern game I’m staying in Darmstadt which is ironic as they play there first.

i can’t imagine too many fans going although there maybe a few like me making it a short break over the weekend ?

I'm in totally the wrong part of the country (Jena) for a couple of weeks but if you get a chance, Frankfurt's well worth a leisurely day.

Maybe the price of flights has increased enormously because of the demand from City fans going over for the game!

More seriously Kaiserslautern is a great club and place to watch football ( though there’s not much in the town itself). Do be prepared for an extremely steep walk up to the ground from the station.

I will be at the Darmstadt game only.  Flying out wednesday morning and back early Thursday.   The brewery next to the station has been recommended so will give that a visit.
