canarybubbles 2,199 Posted April 22, 2022 Rupp is out, it seems, and McLean may be available, so it's looking like some combination of the Fantastic Four again this week - McLean, Gilmour, PLM and Normann. Let's hope that we at least keep PLM in his advanced role after the improvement over the last two games. Many (most?) of us will be hoping for Sorensen but we know we're going to get Gilmour. In defence, Williams is available, so I assume he'll come back in and Giannoulis will be back on the bench even though he did quite well in both games and he will probably be our player next season while Williams definitely will not be. Indy 3,471 Posted April 22, 2022 Is Sargent still out? I’d love to see Dowell move to 10 and Rashica & Sargent on the wings.

He's still out (and TBH I disagree with you - I personally don't want Sargent anywhere near the first team).

He’s actually done OK especially covering back, he’s a solid option. Just needs to find the net more often. It’ll come.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Yes, he works hard, but he lacks even basic ball skills. Running and covering every blade of grass might just about be OK for the Championship, but he's way out of his depth in the PL. In my opinion, of course. There are too many spats on here and I don't want to fight with anyone. It's all just opinions and none of us on here are really experts.
The Bristol Nest 597 Posted April 22, 2022 You don't get this far without basic ball skills. He looked panicked in possession or through on goal. I wonder whether the Premier is just too fast for a lot of our players. Let's have a look at him in the Champs.

Rupp: Features in 1 game. Miss 5 through injury. Surely we can't give him a new contract, bloke is forever injured.

Yes, shame, because I think he's a better footballer than either McLean or Gilmour (at least in the latter's current state of development) and probably less erratic than Normann (who is also a bit of a sick note). So I agree that Rupp shouldn't get a new contract, but it's with regret that he does seem so fragile. Otherwise I'd be glad to see him stay.
