Moyes

Recommended Posts

And now Moyes is whinging because Wet Spam had to play us on Wednesday and Leeds today (Sunday).

Apparently, according to him, there was insufficient recovery time after they played us and that's why they lost today.

And yet we, little old Nodge, who by all accounts are an embarrassment to the EPL, played on Wednesday and Saturday with 24 hours less recovery time.

And yet somehow, against all the odds, we won.

Just when you think you've heard or seen it all, somebody comes up with even more crap.

"It was really tough for us to get back out. We didn't feel the Norwich game should have been put in; we let them know that but they refused our request. They wanted it played but it's had an effect on today's game."

I think I can understand him being a bit miffed but mainly because of how this fixture has fallen. West Ham have played 6 times since Xmas day and I think this was only Leeds third game since they played Arsenal on the 18th December. In isolation, I’d agree the turnaround Norwich to Leeds isn’t something to complain about but given the respective month that West Ham have had compared to Leeds, I think it’s a point worth making.
When all said and done though, the fixtures have to be played and while Moyes probably feels hard done by now, these postponements will cause fixture congestion for the teams that are perceived to have benefited currently. 🤷🏻‍♂️

By 'they' do they mean Norwich or the premier League I wander?

I think he means the PL from my reading of his views. We have played three times in a week albeit with some changes to the squad but not many. I don't recall him complaining about the fixture prior to it or soon afterwards and about he would have complained had they won. The issue seems to be the integrity of clubs calling off fixtures citing covid when it might be the number of players away at AFCON. It remains to be seen if Burnley's match against Watford will go ahead if Saturday's was called off.

Although stronger, they are in a similar position as us with very little depth in their squad past first choice 11. In fact looking at the two squads, we actually have more opportunity to rotate. That's their problem, they've chosen not to strengthen for whatever reason. Then you have teams like arsenal and Liverpool playing the system to get postponements when their own misfortunes are nothing to do with covid. There is no parity in this league at all, but David Moyes has very little to whine about.
