Big games vs Leeds

Recommended Posts

We seem to have had some really big, defining games with Leeds over the years.

Obviously there's the two in our first Championship-winning season under DF, the home game where we got stuffed and looked well off the pace, but which weirdly seemed to kick-start our season, and then Super Tommy Trybull's finest hour when we looked every inch the champions at Elland road.

Further back I remember the League One title decider with Chrissy Martin's late winner, and even further back the 4-0 win at Elland road in our Uefa cup season, which surely has a claim to be the club's finest ever performance, crowned by that ridiculous Goss volley.

Here's hoping Sunday will be a similar watershed. Whatever our views on what's gone before this session, it's time to pull together. On the ball, City.

I remember 2 real stinkers against Leeds on 2 consecutive Saturdays during the 70s ..... game #1 an FA Cup 3rd Round at Carrow Road 1-1 draw ..... terrible match (lost the replay 5-0) ..... game #2 on the following Saturday at Carrow Road, 'must win' Division 1 relegation match, 0-1 defeat ..... another wretched match. Must have been 1973-74 season 'cos we went down to Division 2. Ho hum .....

It was 72/73, the cup game went to two replays and the league game ended 2-1 to Leeds.

The second replay was at Villa Park. I went and remember getting the train home was a bit scarey. We must have been outnumbered by at least ten to one on opposite sides of the little station.

Did you go @DraytonBoy?

If so which side of the tracks?
